OP  4/22/12 11:27:55 AM#1

Terrible game engine.

Combat that feels about as fluid as a lame brick.

A "roll more alts" solution to end game.

A dev team that has absolutley no fking clue what they are doing.

An art team that thinks the visage of a hobo that just crawled out of a dumpster after a hard night of searching empty whiskey bottles for backwash is an acceptable end game armor set.

A rabid (small) core of fiercley loyal fans that will never allow any critisism to breach the wall of bullshit they have erected around their beloved "wowkiller".  LoL.

End of the day this game is just crap from start to finish, and unless you have three keyboards to burn through after you break the spacebar, even the main selling point is just so much worthless babble.

PvP is so borken now in 1.2 there are some classes that cannot be killed "sentinals" and some classes that cannont do .. ANYTHING "sages".

If you're still looking to try this game out later, I'll suggest you wait till it's sold off to perfect world sellilng loot in lockboxes for cash shop keys...

It wont be long.

Good rant. You could almost be a blogger. Just need to get a little more creative with your attempts at funny analogies and you'll be there! Reach for the stars!

Swtor is pretty graphics and some good story lines on top of a crappy gaming engine and class design. It looks to me like if they had 40 people developing this game 38 of them were artist and 2 were programmers. Only pay for one month then Do some low lvl pvp instances. You will see how bad the game was put together. Poorly designed game.

Bioware should have developed a game engine from the ground up.  Instead they took the lazy route.  I was one of those fanbois that  surroundedmyself with a wall of my bullshit and thought this game was awesome.  That was till I hit 50.  End game is a joke and the dailies felt like a job because there were an insane amount of money sinks in that game.  Getting from one place to another is a chore and you spend most of your time watching load screens.  It's just a horribly made game and its a shame.

The Star Wars IP is vast and it doesn't take a genius to make a good Star Wars game.  I guess EA and Bioware were blinded by dollar signs or something.  I had such high hopes for this game especialy since it was made by Bioware.  Color me disappointed.

Off-topic, but when did the discontent for SWTOR begin exactly? In terms of years, like in 200X, or something.

I personally became unhappy with SWTOR and left. Not because what I thought was what everyone else must be thinking.

There are some that really like it and I bet most of those people never post. I still suggest SWTOR but I certainly don't

hype it up as much as I did when I participated in beta.

Not a convincing post, too ranty.

This just in: Don't waste your time on games... it's a waste of time!

Agree with op, this is the worst "mm"orpg I have ever played. Lifeless, souless, seen it all before borefest. If it didn't have the star wars ip to pull in suckers it would be dead by now.

Would have made more sense if the OP had at least quantified his arguments with some kind of reasoning, saying something is bad 'because i say so' is hardly going to win an argument any time soon.

While i agree the game isnt 100% - yet to play a game that is, it does have its issues and i 100 percent agree that one of the main issues with SW;TOR is the PvP,  still think huttball is ridiculous, and the others arent really any better.

Space is a joke but if you have 5 minutes to waste, it's passable, but very boring as there isnt really much variation.

Storyline, its the main if not the only focus of the game, does that part very well, as are the Operations, in that sense the game is much like WoW, in that its largely a solo affair except for dungeons... you could almost say, if your bored of WoW play SW;TOR for a while, grouping for flashpoints etc has the same problems that WoW did, must have a dedicated healer, must have a dedicated tank, the rest made up of DPS,  and you get the same problems with people trying to be tanks that are spec'd for dps, same with healers, who inevitably complain when they get booted out of the groups

However, if you arent that bothered about storyline, then SW;TOR is a game you'll get bored with very quickly, it does make for a decent 'off game' which is pretty much what i did, i have a few games i play as my 'main games' and recently i replaced WoW with SW;TOR as my 'off game'  .. sometimes you just need a change of pace

I think must have a new record in hate threads against SWTOR as there are more of them cropping up on a daily basis even after all this time when everyone realised the game sucked back after it launched.

Still goes to show that no matter how many times put a new article out about how cool the game is now, someone will believe it, download it and try it out then come back here and write another 'SWTOR Sucks' thread and they will be completely justified in doing so.

I, personally, think that the reason why everyone is hating on SWTOR is the initial hype the game got and the fact that it had the biggest budget for an MMORPG (and even for any video game, if I remember correctly) and still turned out so mediocre. TOR certainly is no bad game, it may lack some features which are considered mandatory for an mmo, but I can´t understand most of the criticism, especially the endgame issue, having in mind that SWTOR basically is KOTOR 3 and, let´s face it, what kind of endgame (without joining the sandbox cheering on this site) would be acceptable for TOR? An honest question, by the way :D

Not surprised but not one example to back up anything this poster said. Just a little temper tantrum about a video game. Its clear all this was and that is a poor attempt at (insert a word that cant be said here) . This post should be reported for what it is.

Who did wrong? The advertiser hired to sell the game or the consumer who put faith in advertising?

I hate it because i've seen it all before. It really is wow in space. It has all the bad points of wow, then some more like crappy engine, lack of content, closed in corridory world design, lifeless plastic worlds trapped in time with clone npcs, even stupider crafting and pvp.

Also it cost more money than a normal game, I felt ripped off, which isn't often, I normally get something out of a game even if I only play it a couple of months (e.g. had fun leveling in tsw, but quit due to wow like endgame). Swtor had me quiting before the free month was up.

Love the op

This game sucks cause I say so, it has taken elements of other games and isn't original. Things in the game are not what I want it to be so all you loyal fanbois suck cause you like it.

SWTOR may just be "WOW-in-space" but guess what, I hate WOW and do not mind SWTOR, reasoning is all due to setting. Thing is I'm not a SW fan, I can care less if it is the SW IP. It can be generic pulp sci-fi for all I care and it is 100 times better than WOW. Heck they can re-skin WOW into a sci-fi game and it is 100 times better imho. This could be "Hello Cyber-Kitty Online" and imho it would be better than ANY same old fantasy game.

There is one MAJOR different between SWTOR andevery game out there. Story! That's right Story it actually has one, and one that is "slightly" interactive. I cannot care less about grinding, I cannot care less about it being a "12 month game", I play it like KOTOR 3 and I love the story. Yes the story may be on rails, but what video game story is not? I do not feel ripped off, why? cause it is "free" with me being able to pay what I think it is worth. Right now, since I did purchase the original game I feel like I've payed for any other "single player" console game with multi-player capacity and I'm playing it as such. No different than buying CoD for $60 and only playing online.

And Yes I love feeding trolls, it is a hobby of mine

Someone's been spying on me. :)

Now we're calling prostitutes "sex workers". What's next? Calling hit men "end-of-life technicians"?

Hyperbole at its finest.

Don't get me wrong, I agree there are some issues with SWTOR (such as the F2P restrictions) but the game itself isn't entirely bad. Then again, I have friends on there to help make the experience much better, so that may have something to do with it.

It's one thing to comment and even criticize a game, but don't sound like a hater.
