Resubbed and been playing all my old toons.Ive noticed they have improved alot such as the ability delay is gone, the pvp is way better, and game is performing better. Not to mention the legacy system is great. Overall if they continue to make it a better game this thing will last and probably pull a few more people in.
This was never a bad game, but Bioware did screw a few things up and it looks they are well on the way to fixing it. |

Also, among other things... companion gear will be match to chest and you will have option to hid their head slot. And of course mood emotes coming :) Thats for RP folks. From PTS forum it seems that operation TFB is pretty much bug free (so far) and that it's a lot of fun. HM seems to be pretty challenging... I think there are some guild which will be doing 16 man operation today. There are some interestingfeedback on PTS forums.

I read somewhere that afterF2P option comes otu they will be producing content faster. Is this true? This all sounds good. Looks like this game is gonna follow Rift in a sense of dropping in numbers and slowly recovering from this loss honestly.

BioWare stated that they will deliver content every 6 weeks or so (new FP or Operation or WZ or event). Also Makeb is coming with Cathar as new species, but I would think that it's not going to happen until after F2P option will be in game. Updates notes for 1.4 suggest that there are many bug fixes and optimization coming, as well as attempt to balance PvP. many changes to all classes, PvE folks don't like them too much LOL. Nothing game breaking in my opinion. The winner for class nert is still EQ2 - nothing will ever compare to LU13 - which destroyed wardens LOL. At least for a time /grin.

Originally posted by Zecktorin Well, EA Bioware has been promising faster releases for quite some time. They also promised more information into what is going on within SWTOR, on the forums. This worked well, but their promise only lasted a week, in which time they said: "We're looking into it." "We have plans but no information yet." "We're going to be talking about that soon."
Now the forum is once again dead from Dev's. Faster releases after freemiun? I kind of doubt it. Faster content was supposed to happen 6 months ago .. actually even from launch, if you take into consideration all the granduous promises made by certain EA Bioware people at major conventions, GamesCon & PAX, for instance (2011). I'm loving GW2 but Ill probably come back to this as a secondary game once its free to play. Its a good change of pace to go from one game which has a cheesy kiddy phone app personal story to one that is a little more sophisticated ...at least story wise,, though I only wish SWTOR's world felt comparibly alive and better for exploring and its not even close yet. It feels so much more linear and lacking that charm that makes GW2 special (so far). Why they don't do more regular world events on multiple planets at once is beyond me. Its obvious people like that sort of thing..the surprise that makes it feel different instead of linear.

Originally posted by Zecktorin What constitutes an update? Originally they said they would be pushing stuff out every month with major quarterly updates .. but back then EA were justifying why SWTOR had a subscription. Now they are going F2P and EA are there will be lots of content every 6 weeks .... At the end of the day it is just marketing. The game hasn't done as well and staff have been laid off in order to reduce costs. And, sadly, I expect the big push will be to introduce fluff for the cash shop. I say sadly because I don't believe that SWTOR will survive if they go ahead and make it F2P to level 50 and rely on the cash shop to bring in the revenue. B2P to level 50 with whatever staff they have focusing on content packs that they sell as DLC. This is the way that WarnerBros have taken LOTR and - finally - DDO (if ever a game called out for paid expansion packs it was DDO). At the end of the day ot all comes down to money. No money = no new content. |
