Like really.. another server maintenance down for extended period cutting into their prime time. Really feel sorry for people who actually play during these times who are victim of rushed patch releases. |

I think you are mistaking them for a company that cares about their playerbase . |

Originally posted by minime2 I think BW care to this extent.. obviously they can't please everyone but I'd expect the developers to want to at least make gamers happy.. it's EA who don't care who are probably pulling their leashes. |

Originally posted by Senden It may be just me but from what I notice most games that release patches often have problems requiring an emergency patch usually within the first few weeks of the patch so why the need to label a patch "rushed"? So given that downtime is something like four hours per cycle that's maybe 16 hours a month is it really that serious, I mean I'm an american player but my prime play time is right in the middle of the patch schedule should they apologize to me too? If you play mmo's this is something you are going to have to deal with especially if you expect the devs to make improvements. One question I do have though is don't devs actually patch the servers at different times? |

Originally posted by raistlinm I've played numerous MMOs.. granted not for as long as SWTOR but I don't recall many experiences of patches coming out on servers then the servers going down for 6 hours 48 hours later for emergency patches. I label BW's patches rushed becasue on too many occassions they've released patches on retail servers with game breaking bugs that should never have got past QA/play testers |

I believe there is a "sorry for the inconvienance" in the patch notes. Not that they should have to in the first place. This patch was on the test servers for awhile so it was not rushed out as you suggested.
NGE killed SWG. Get over it like the rest of us did in 2005. |

Why should Bioware apologise to people because of where they live? It's a global game and Bioware are based in the US, if everyone everywhere expected them to work around their time zone nothing would ever get done, afterall it's always peak time somewhere. Always keep your words soft and sweet, just in case you have to eat them. |

There are so many industries that work 24/7. Lots and lots of mmo companies as well. EA Bioware could do exactly the same. They decided not to presumably to save money. Almost certainly another reason that the game tanked - certainly upset a lot of the EU players and the downtime has been even worse on Oceanic servers. So those who keep defending shoddy customer service - to late now; you - yes you - will get less development and less support going forward. Companies that have good customer service - in any industry - do better than those that don't.
Here's a radical thought however. The Oceanic Servers and EU are, we believe, no different from the EU servers. So they roll the patch out on the Oceanic Servers first and, if all is well, then yippee. If however it all goes wrong - as it always seems to so - then they fix it. And then they only have to do 1 roll out for the US servers. Or another radical thought: if you work for a company that has outsourced its software then the outsourcing company has software that rolls out updates to individual computers in a timed basis. Something to do with people not having access during their workday being bad.

The Oceanic servers are actually in Australia which is a lot more than what most mmorpg's have provided us with. I can forgive them a lot of things just for this reason! |
