Useless scale is useless.

They could name their population labels using drink sizes and it would have the same effect. Small, Medium, Big Gulp, Super Big Gulp. Do I know how many ounces are in a Small? Nope. I just know it is tiny relative to the others. In their defense every MMO does it and it's pretty darn frustrating that they can't just post the actual population of the server.

I don't usualy post but the people saying the game is dead are just wrong at least on my server anyways we have a que time every night for anywhere from 20mins to an hour last night was over an hour. My guild on both sides has grown in numbers not decreased. I'm sure it has lost subs but still doing well. I understand you don't enjoy the game but if you don't why are you still paying for a sub? And if your not how are you saying what the pops are before the free week they handed out?

Wrong...flat wrong jedi Convenant went full, Fatman had a 35 min que, several others, just cant remember their names. MOST were standard.  BTW, Standard is what you want for server stability anyway.   Keep trying tho Im here all week to help with the misinformation.

ROFL! People spouting out this TOTAL NONSENSE!  Have you even rolled characters on one of those standard load servers?  Did you??  I bet you did not!!!

Standard servers are Ghost towns!  Light servers are just dead! (feel sorry for those people stuck on those).

I have characters on two servers who are light most of the time and hit standard during EU and US primetime.

30-40 people in Fleet during primetime.  15-28 people on Corussant.  5-12ish people on the average other planet.

That's primetime for you on Standard load servers! Over half of all the servers have that kind of pop during primetime! One third don't ever come beyond Light!  Then you got just a handful (mostly due to desperate people rerolling there) that hit heavy/very heavy, with 1 or 2 queue'ing.

If you call that a healthy population??  lol. Just lol!

Do I need to explain the different instances on each server?  I was in instance 1 yesterday on Jedi Covenant, Fleet had 180+ people, went to Instance 2 150 + on Fleet.  Now I went to Tatooine where 100 + doing world event, No idea though if that counts IMP players as well, dont think so.  Right now on Tatooine middle of the day 75 on Tatooine 2 other instances are available.  I doubt you play, but spewing crap.  For the screen shot folks i shall do so when able ok?  =D

Even with those numbers it still falls short for a MMO. Should be in the 1000s per zone not hundreds.

Dude its one zone..... ONE zone 10 other planets KK? Get it FFS, LEARN the game before commenting

I've never seen an old person type "KK" and "FFS" in all my years on the internet. Maybe old is popular new slang that I don't know. Could it be that I am older than the old person? I'm getting really obsessed with age right now it's freaking me out!

For what it's worth, I've used them often in chat and I'm fair bit older than you.

But this page means hardly anything.

It's like saying that server is pink, orange, red, blue, green.

We don't know the numbers behind those words.

Exactly, both sides in this debate are arguing based on heresay, guess work, and wishful thinking.

We have the peeps who wanna bring up the recent EA layoffs. As though it's all about TOR because it is mentioned, yet many of EA's titles this year didn't perform as expected. You have the others clinging to a statement made about intial numbers, which we all should know at this point is meaningless.

The only motivation here is to stick it to each other, a proverbial middle finger is what this thread is and just about any post within it.

That's because they artificially inflated the populations of the servers by providing free game time for old and "valued" subscribers.

Come back to me in 30 days again and we'll see how well the game is doing. People will go back to requesting much needed server merges and characters transfers because the majority of the servers are dead and will continue remain to be ghost towns.

The apologists for this game are just downright pathetic. I am glad that i stopped playing this poorly executed mess. The community is even worse.

Servers dont generally hold more than 2500 people, and most games struggle when you get a couple hundred people in the same area.

I do remember EQ's peak when the bazaar would have 500 traders + all the customers.  Probably the only zone in MMORPG history to be consistently over 200 people, I think on most servers it still is

To what end? It's a subject I find highly pointless, what does it matter where any game settles in terms of numbers? That should only matter to EA. The only reason people on these forums even bring it up is to rub into someones face, be it fans or non. Which is as petty as petty gets.

Seeing EA suffer is very heartwarming to me. Not on a gaming level but a business one. As for the fan base. Let me remind you that I was a beta tester, who was banned from the forums because I discussed the clunky responsiveness of the game. Spoke negatively about the hypocracy of the beating on a single boss like WOW issues. Not very heroic concept, and said it would come back to haunt them if they took this WoW approach.

Not only was i banned, but the thread had over 200+ fanbois telling me I was a hater and troll. I shook that off. Even bought my son a copy. But then when basic facts about the game became obvious to all but the demented few, its hard to not enjoy the misery they so deserve. So like I said, I'm more than willing to once again wait it out and get the final laugh here. To me, there is no doubt about where this game is headed, its just a matter of when, not if. Pardon me for smiling for being patient.

Im not apolgizing for anything,Just for kicks how do you even back up your statement "artifically inflated" server status? Just here to clear up the misinformation somewhat.  BTW, This same argument started 2 Weeks after launch LOL, then it was after the 1st billing period, then it was after the first game update, then it was 1.2 update,  whats next?  Thats right anything the GW2 shills can make up.  BTW, GW2 will be out soon,  cut and paste these comments to a word file and prepare to use them again, cause guess what those forums will be the SAME way.  =D

I must ask, do you guys practice the new non trinity combat system? I notice you guys take turns on putting out threads that end up humiliating yourselves and send you into a downed state a day or two later, then someone else steps up and takes over the tanking till you recover.

I beg to differ. I'm sure in a few weeks they will provide the exact proof they need when BW state a significant overwhelming vast majority of people currently playing the game are paying customers. Therefore proving to them the game is not only growing but their original estimate of 80% retention is clearly wrong and should be much higher at around 90%

1. For god's sake mmo gamers, enough with the analogies. They're unnecessary and your comparisons are terrible, dissimilar, and illogical.

2. To posters feeling the need to state how f2p really isn't f2p: Players understand the concept. You aren't privy to some secret the rest are missing. You're embarrassing yourself.

3. Yes, Cpt. Obvious, we're not industry experts. Now run along and let the big people use the forums for their purpose.

Well, in a way he is right!

I have proven in several posts how bad the average population is on a STANDARD load server.

And yet those Bioware "fans" keep spouting about hundreds of players on fleet, hundreds of people on each planet, with several instances up and running on each planet.... yada yada yada!  Without backing it up with screenshots!

As I haven't seen any of that kind of activity since the first week/two weeks of launch.

My two servers I play on, where both VERY HEAVY to FULL load the first 3 weeks or so, with those kind of numbers yes.

But ever since week 4 it has gone more and more downhill... and now the average activity is a mere shadow of it's former past.

Finding groups is a total pain in the butt! when you have only an average of 5-12 people running around on each planet.

Doing flashpoints is just as worse, when you got only 30ish people online on Fleet during primetime.

Queue times for Warzones have skyrocketed since the last month or two.

FACT is! There are only a handful servers left with a healthy popultion! Mostly due to lots of desperate people from LIGHT/STANDARD pop servers rerolling there.

After so many chars on my current two servers... I can't stomach rerolling again on a new server! Thanks but no thanks.

I bought SWTOR and have enjoyed my time in the game, theres so many good games to play at the moment though that I havnet had time to stay in SWTOR, I will come back to it definitely.  I want to see the game do well, its a good game and gives you that mmo pve feeling of exploring the world and doing quest's like any good mmo does.

Even so, playing the first month of release, I had people coming up to me asking why the server was so dead.  I thought that was very weird, I seem to be the type of player that will continue playing not noticing the population. I played warhammer online, on a dead server not even noticing it(sea of malice server) untill it was closed down, I guess I cant say I didnt notice it, cause when ID log into the server, there would be like one other person on the entire server!

I think SWTOR needs alot of things, namely better optimization and social interaction being the most basic things that your average joe might notice playing the game.  If it cant do the social interaction thing, this game is going to drop well below a million subscribers soon, so when we see the next player population count I think the anticipation of SWTOR pulling off a upset of being sucessfull might be fully evaporated.

What you just described though is gaming forums as a whole. The same thing happens to many who post a concern or opinion that isn't positive about any game. As for your banning, I don't know what you wrote or how you wrote it so won't comment on that.

As for the "fanbois", It's not exclusive behavior to TOR and it's not any more prominent from it's community. I've seen it everywhere I've been when it comes to gaming, be it MMO's, shooters, consoles etc..

Oh..I agree with you completely....but thats pretty much what any screenshot would show and it was easy enough to find. That was my point.

I think we'd all be surprised (pleasantly or otherwise) by actual population numbers from all the MMOs. It's all talk. I just find a server that's good for me and go.
