Ive noticed that ever since the game has come out w/e BW releases a patch the following day or sometimes the same day something goes wrong and they need to take the game down for almost a whole nother day. Im currently not playing but since they said we could try 1.2 for 7 days i wasnt going to pass it up but now i try to log on and parts of the patch got deleted from the servers and it wont be back up till later tonight. All i can say is Wow bioware this does not make me want to come back. |

You apparently have never written code. |

Originally posted by Darklighter1 Yeah I'm tired of this one too. Other games work, other games do amazing things like have content that entertains past max level. "But it's hard" gets no love from me as I think that people built the pyramids, not aliens. They could have chosen a more safe approach if there was that much risk, and as they are programmers they should have known right? If this happened in EQ, WoW, etc. they should have known shouldn't they? Subject Matter Expert cuts both ways.

You say after 4 months that tehy can not get a patch in ... but WoW has been having the same problem since day 1. I have seen times when the servers were down and up several times a day. Putting in a patch is not like simply saying what you want. Think of a patch like, installing a program on your computer, but in this case you have to format your drive, reinstall the OS, Drives and all other programs before you do ... It is a very complex process where any number of things can go wrong at any point in the process. to be honest, the glitch does not faze me, EVERY game has this probelm and always will ... Complaining about it does nothing and if you don't like it ... Don't pay another MMO ... THEY ALL HAVE ISSUES WITH PATCHES |

WoW still has issues on patch days after what..8 years? You can't predict or test every possible variable that comes with a patch, especially one of this size. What matters more is their ability and time frame in which they fix it. |

Originally posted by Darklighter1 I got a computer science degree, programming focused. This is an excuse you're presenting. At their level, they should know what would break and they should have if else clause there to take care of the bugs. Guild Wars 2's 50 minutes game play video: |

Companies have said in the past how easy patching a game can create new bugs. Think they said something like "Fixing bug A might cause bug L to appear". There is no way to know that fixing something will break something else till it happens and it's found. Sometimes bugs cannot be found till after thousands of people get on the servers and the problem pops up. Easier for a problem to be found when there's thousands playing, instead of a small handful of people that was working on the patch. I'd love to see people make a game as big as SWTOR, make it bug free and keep it 100% bug free with each patch/exp pak. |
