Holic Online Overview and Recent Content

Holic Online was a free-to-play Korean fantasy MMORPG. In the game, players took on the role of an amnesiac adventurer who, after choosing one of the game's two races, set off on a quest to regain his or her character's memory and figure out what happened. Aside from having notably polished graphics for a free MMO, Holic also had some robust features for player-created content. Players could not only create their own user dungeons and challenge others with them, but there was also a system in place for user-generated quests. Another standout feature was the ability to change classes via the assistance of an NPC. Players could then change into whatever class was most useful for the task at hand. However, once in the field, this change was limited to between a player's own class and his or her chosen subclass. The game was shut down by its US/global publisher in June 2009. A sequel, Holic 2, is in the works in Korea, and will include new features such as PvP that its predecessor lacked.
