Cool, I hope everything is going well. I like the method they are using. Doing things step by step to make sure everthing is done right.

They have already screwed over people. Lots of people cant even log in right now and been waiting for weeks. Charging people to play beta is just wrong too. What with the $75 price tag on this game? I better get a Jenna Jameson blow up doll with this for that much. I think the game has alot of promise but so far they are already screwing their player base. This far from doing things right.

Typical Indie cycle...money is tight...investors breathing down their necks and the game is not finished.  It is playable to some degree so the decision is made to publish.

When are they going to learn, a bad launch is getting harder and harder to recover from as the genre gets more crowded by the day.

This game is just NOT ready for public consumption and the negativity this will generate will really hurt this game.

Only time will tell if they can survive that.  Shame as it's basic design looks good, far better than what we have seen from Darkfall.

I really appreciate your concerns. I mean, its really good of you to help out the poor down trodden block A beta testers. Just a little bit of advice, your info on log-in may not be that recent or accurate, and I'm not sure that many of the testers feel screwed over.

The difference is they are clearly telling people they are playing to beta, with DF you had to work that out for yourself. Here there is no debate about the state of the game, as it stands right now, there essentially isn't one but people paying and playing know that and that makes it a different proposition altogether. People don't feel lied to.

You are correct however that a lot of people will still expect something more despite being informed otherwise and this will generate negative press, but SV must have been aware of that and simply had little or no alternative. Some will accept this and some will not but in time if the game is good enough it will do well.

Exactly, people complaining about the state of beta is like the guy i read about a few years back who bought a World of Warcraft Collectors Edition and then demanding a refund because the game had a monthly fee :P

If you don't know what you are buying (when the devs have stated EXACTLY  what you get) you have only yourself to blame.
