Pre-orders for Mortal Online are scheduled to begin today. Though, the Mortal Online store, at least of this writing, is still not up.

In the meantime, the developers have updated the website with detailed information regarding the pre-order program, the beta, and the game's estimated system requirements.
To start, Mortal Online will only be accepting pre-orders for 10,000 copies of the game at present. Some other restrictions apply, such as the fact you may only purchase one copy per account, though you are able to register multiple accounts. They do warn that if you use the same credit card to make the same payment five times within a week, that your credit card issuer may ban the card for two weeks as a Fraud precaution.
Also, take care when making your order, as the version you select during checkout will be reserved for you for several hours. This means you cannot change your order version once you've selected it (for a few hours), this has been implemented so that if something goes wrong during the order process you don't have to start over and lose your chance at reserving a copy of the game.
The monthly fee for Mortal Online will set you back €14.25 if you're in Europe, or $14.25 in the US. Beta will be split into five blocks consisting of 2,000 players each (for a total of 10,000) and the schedule is as follows:
July 20 Block A (including 999 Limited Editions)
August 3 Block B
August 17 Block C
August 31 Block D
September 14 Block E
The digital distribution of Mortal Online will not go on sale until a week after the retail launch of the game, though customers who purchase the retail version will be able to download and play the beta. They still do not have a specific release date for Mortal Online, but they do expect the game to be rated Mature at this point.
Also in today's announcement was a release of estimated system specifications for the game. You can find them below:

Is it me, or is the white guy with the dreads missing an arm? Uh oh...
anybody else getting flashbacks to DnL and Darkfall?
Hey! I can actually run this well!..if only I had the windows OS though!
after 6 hours and im not even sure anyone was even able to make a pre-order yet. I've been on my comp looking stuff up on youtube just to kill time....
Yes, other than the devs talking about it and apoligizing for the delay saying they were promised unlimited bandwith, but the hosting company didn't come through, and thus they can't do anything (other than sue, but that won't make the problem fixed any faster). The DF devs, when they did come out and talk about it, blamed the customers (there were too many).
Also, this is the opening of preorders, not the launch, not the biggest of deals if you mess up opening preorders... launch on the other hand
been waiting for 8 hours and counting now :(
The ironic thing is its not the ammount of people thats the problem, they solved that some hours ago. Its the transactions system...for which they delayed the pre-orders by 2 weeks previously, what they were doing in that time is anyones guess :-/
Well tought I take a little risk here and just get it. ( no idea if i will like it tho :P )
good thing about europe is that some of us got IDEAL, direct bank payment system. order made, payment done.
now to wait for the box or download.
but at least they're getting it done faster!
Shop is Open. Beta block one! :)
Collector's edition sold out real fast, that's a good sign.
Even though it was $98, a thousand were sold in less than half an hour I believe.
SA black guy OUT again ¬¬
I tried to find more info on this game but cannot.
Their trailer really blows as far as not showing the real game...the screen shots are mediocre.
I am afraid to purchase another Darkfall. $54 and $15/month for a game that looks like it may over-promise and under-deliver AGAIN? I dont think so.
Fool me once...shame on you, fool me twice..shame on me.
Can someone point me in the right direction for real gameplay video and the likes? Or if this is a game that will actually be released?
I have been part of the community over there sense day one. From the look of it, they are trying deligently to make good on their promoses. I for one will not be buying, mainly because I have played them all and I just want to stand back and see how this one goes before stepping in...and I feel that sense I have been there from day one that I should still have a chance getting into beta without buying a game.
Have to wait and see, but their system specs are far too high. Does not bode well for the game at all.
I managed to get a Limited Edition copy ....... $119 Cdn.
What too high?? You can run it on a 4 year old rig. You just have to scale down graphic settings.
Seriously people. snap out of it!
Do you really expect that today you can still run a new game on highest settings with more then 4 year old hardware?
They use the latest Unreal Technology (Unreal Engine 3.5). What you expect??
It's really easy to check to see if you can run this game.
Just download the Unreal Tournament 3 demo from somewhere or any other game running on UE3 and see how it runs.
Cheers
if your comp cant match the recommended specs, i'm afraid to tell you, you wont be playing any future games at all
Sigh euro same as dollar -_- Euro is only 40 % higher in value -_-
And on top of that they are based an Europe... trying to rip off their fellow Continent-Men.

Seems we have some illinformed posters here. Do you know what is hot these days? Laptops. How many laptops have a decent graphics card? Less than 5% have a 8800 or equivalent. Most people playing games use the laptop these days, they don't buy a gaming computer! Minimum specs mean barely able to run the game. If you have not figured that out by now I feel sorry for you.
It is obvious to anyone who understands sales figures that this will impact this game.

People who don't have the required hardware are not the target market.
At this point they only plan on having 1 server of 10,000 people... they would like to have more but *shrug* they will leave that up to the customer.
It is probably a heavy statistics problem but:
There are at least 10,000 people with the recommended hardware who want to play this game.

you mean 5 servers with 2000 people per server, the pre-order beta (lol) will start off with 10000 copys, not 1 server with 10000 people.
Just placed my order for regular box and got A block beta.
So happy there are no in-game rewards for preordering or buying collecters edition. Even the one they sold on Ebay for $5100 didn't offer any in-game rewards. These developers understand the importance of earning everything in-game thru expended effort.
So do people still pre-order MMORPG's?, I can understand if someone has been in a alpha/beta state of the game, so actualy played the game.
But do people really pre-order who have not played the game at all?
When you can't find a quality challenging MMOG to play for 2-3 years, you are willing to take some calculated risks.

wrong, they will have one server, they are just letting people in in 2000 batches. Dont post things you do not know.

My last MMORPG I truly played was SWG, of course played many in between but not in the extend of time I spend with SWG, so overall I could say I been waiting since, still personaly don't see it as a reason to pre-order a game without having played or tested it. As I said I could understand those who already have played.
Maybe it's also because of how forums work, I mean the times I see someone posting how mad he/she is because the pre-order game didn't turn out the way he/she hoped, yet these same people we see in forums yet in another pre-order game and again it turned out bad.
Of course I do hope for those who pre-order the game that the game will be all that, but I personaly simply can not understand it with MMORPG, with singelplayer games if a A-tittle game I could understand it, Or if we knew for a fact that how the game will be released is what the full game IS, remember this is NOT possible with MMORPG as so many changes are handled even during release is kinda a reason why I would never pre-order a MMORPG if I have not played or tested it before.
There is no doubt that almost 80 $US is a hefty price tag but personally... I'm ponying up. This is a small group of developers doing something they are passionate about. I doubt they have bazillions of development dollars. They are very communicative in the forums about the state of things and are ... gasp... human and occassionally make mistakes and they admit when they do and they make reparations and give open explanations. Their game has a lot of features of a lot of the old games I used to play and seem to be really going about it right in creating a world that you wont find answers for online, at least initially, but that you have to learn and explore and uncover as you explore the world. That's pretty cool to me. The "next gen" games everyone keeps hoping for will never come from the Blizzards and the SOEs or EAs or anywhere else because they have to struggle with their investors and dollars and have to have the name (Blizzard) or the IP (Star Wars) or some other hook to show the investors that it should pay off.
These guys, as far as I can tell, are perfectly straight forward in doing what they love. Call me a fanboy or whatever but the case is I've been through my share of disappointing places and worlds that dont hold my interest and have let me down but in this case I'm putting my money where my mouth is to invest in the concept, in the idea, that the small developers with good vision and the right attitude can persist in the face of the industry to create something truly different and groundbreaking.
I have similar feelings.
At worst, I donated ~~$100 dollars to a group of people i've verified are passionate about their project.
It won't be much of a loss to me if things go badly, but then it will be a surprise if that happens... based on what I feel I know of these developers.
Take a chance, and sometimes you do get rewarded.
And on top of that they are based an Europe... trying to rip off their fellow Continent-Men.
Lol, do you really know what you are talking about? It is called VAT, which is determined by the Swedish law in this case (+25% for all europeans since they are located in Sweden). So, ripping off who?
Ohh, wait, would that be why all other games are cheaper for the non-europeans than for example the americans? If I buy something from the USA, I have to pat VAT when I buy from EU. DOH, smartass... Please dont post such a dumbass fake facts.
I'm a proud owner of the "Full loot bag - Limited Edition" and Block A beta, woohoo! If you cant afford it, dont whine about it!
Wow for all the fools prepurchasing this game, I have a bunch of bridges to sell you. Those prices are absurd for any MMO, let alone one from a completely unknown developer. If that does not scream out to you to wait and see, I don't know what does.
The really amazing thing, are the posters on here bragging about buying it.
For many its a 'disposable' amount. Anyway It's pretty easy to do credit card chargebacks if the game fails to deliver what they advertise. No big deal really.
"The monthly subscription cost of Mortal Online will be €14.25 for Europeans and $14.25 for everybody else. This cost is subject to change.
The monthly subscription cost includes all future updates and expansions for Mortal Online. No additional costs will be charged for future expansions."
If i preorder and get into a beta block will they charge me 15 dollars every month? Or does the monthly fee apply only after the game is released?
After the game is released.
It's been stated numerous times in this thread and others, we did what we want... yet individuals like yourself (you are not alone in your mindset) seem to believe you are right.
That is the key word though... believe.
You don't actually know anything, and a belief doesn't make you right.
If you need confirmation on your beliefs about pre-ordering, I recommend prayer.
yes keep waiting for another Blizzard MMO,. theme park all the way hyh? :)
You will buy MO anyway :)
I am understanding this right.... ? .... They are asking people to buy the game and pay for a monthly service that is still in Beta testing? I see failure all over this game. Now let me state that I have been following this game for a while now and really really hope it doesn't end like so many others!!! I will watch over the next couple months and see, but NO longer do I dish out 50.00 + bucks for a game that hasn't proven it's worth (i.e. Vanguard, Conan, etc).
