This is the official word today from my CC company on my asking for a refund from StarVault.

"The company StarVault has no retail product at this time. You are therefor entitled to a refund which we have secured from StarVault. This refund will be reflected in your next statement"

So there you have it. If you don't want to obtain MortalOnline, a refund can be obtained through your CC company.

He got a full refund. Only person losing out is Starvault. Maybe you should think before you post next time?

Everyone has their refunds already this is old news.  Good for anyone who still wants one though.  The order was supposed to ship on Sept 1st and never did so the next wave of refunds should comes soon.

SV is going to have to shove those boxed versions into an uncomfortable place.  Their game tanked before it left early beta and the company's public stock is worth about as much as toilet paper.

What are the steps to get the refund if you paid with visa?

Most likely the first step would be to contact your CC company and file a dispute.

Saw these credit card complaints when of released.  most of the time though it just turned out just kind of BS.  Kind of scary to see it true for MO.  This is not a game i want to see fall on its face.

I don't know which English speaking countries you come from but I could not understand your English.

Anyway, the cancellation is not a problem for MO. Lets suppose 5% of pre-orderers want to cancell and 20% of those wrote about their issues in different forums, we would have seen 100 persons want to cancel and refund. This would make a great deal of noises, much more than we actually saw. Still 5% is not a high rate.

I would be pissed off if I know any of these cancellers ordered a Limited Edition and deprived me the opputunity to get one.

It's outrageous that people like the OP get a refund.

People were warned a lot of times about what they were buying. People like the OP still bought, only to cry for a refund instead of accepting the responsibility of his decision.

Good news is there's one less potential whiner playing this game.

If you wonder why I don't answer your posts, it's most likely because you are on my ignore/block list. I recommend its use to everyone here - it helps you stay sane, avoid trolls, and by not answering to the troll's bait posts, avoid problems.

The real good news is once this company goes bankrupt we won't have to see anymore developers trying to alpha test their games using paying customers as guinea pigs.

Yes! you are absolutely right, I honestly cant wait for Starvault and Aventurine to finally close their doors, I think once this is done thats it, everyone will be happy no more alpha or beta testing of any kind, we should honestly expect better, and from here on what we will have is more WoW, and thats the way it should be, AION will also be released but we will know how that will turn out, another 200k sub game, all the next projects should be something that is just a small extension of the Theme Park genre cause that is the only way any company is gonna release anything, no company will ever invest any money on any sandbox  and Indie companies just get torn apart very quickly so I think everyone will enjoy playing "WoW" for the next 50 years of MMORPG Generations.

Or maybe developers will learn that the only way to take a bite out of the MMO market is to make a good game before you throw the game into paid alpha, "/slash", make the game after the pre-order mode.  Maybe companies will figure out that a sandbox isn't just a playpen.

Then maybe one of those companies will put together functional MMO with the sandbox features most of the first generation MMO players want.

Or we could keep watching developer after developer go under or sell out to a publisher so big they can support dozens of failed games and still turn a profit.

There is already tons of cloned garbage on the market.  StarVault's Mortal Online is more of the same.  It's a canned fantasy MMO.  Imagine a mod with really fancy graphics and that is MO.  There is nothing new, nothing innovative, nothing even remotely unique, even the lore is cloned and bland.

The industry doesn't need more retards fighting for the last peice of pie with nothing but their developmental super-powers.  Bake a new pie, or GTFO.

people like the OP make me sick, Not because they cancel, sometimes people buy things they shouldn't when they shouldn't. It's because they knew what they were paying for.  the devs diddn't say the game was 99% complete and they only have a few minor things to test. it wasnt an early acess you paid for.

what aggravates me the most is how doomsayers do this to every game. they claim vaporware, and talk these games down at every turn, buy the game and talk shit in game, cancel and talk shit about how bad it is, and gloat when they get a refund.

I like this Idea better, MMO's dont give bullshit marketing betas out ever again so only way to see this game is to actually buy it and be stuck with your decision because you bought a released product. Jesus only viable reason atm for a refund is if you are having financial issues, the excuse of the beta wasn't what I expected is just total bullshit.

Actually the most viable reason is the fact that they have not delivered what they contracted with people to deliver in the beginning of Sept.

What they have done so far is fraudulent and they are required by US law to inform customers of how long the delay will be and to offer a refund or the customer can allow them to deliver at a later date.

This does not bode well for SV. It really sucks being in potential legal trouble even before your product sees the light of day.

I admit that it was stupid of SV to put a shipping date on the pre-order that didn't match the actual release date of the game, I am in no hurry to get my stuff especially when the dvds in the embossed box will be a non finished version of the game.

I really don't see why there is a big uproar about recieving the game now unfinished and not when the game is actually finished and ready for release.

Also from what I have been reading up on since I didn't remember the exact ship date every place I find it claims that the boxed versions will ship around september they haven't given a concrete date. So they have not done anything fraudulent nor is it a reason to get your money back considering it isnt even past September and around doesnt mean just before september it also can mean after. So you sir need to get your facts straight before posting.

The date was Sept 1st,  I have the reciept that proves it.  This combined with the paid beta brought many buyers to the table that never would have pre-ordered otherwise.  They should have charged a fee to hold the game like every other developer/publisher does.  Instead they chose to steal hundreds of thousands of dollars from a bunch of unsuspecting fools.  After the initial sale the delay was made public not by SV but by community members who discovered the date change.  There has since been no official announecment of any kind.

A couple months ago someone on the boards wrote a story about how their mom thought the whole thing was a scam when he was trying to get her to buy this game for him on her credit card.  It turns out his mom was spot on.  There is nothing but sample mechanics from Unreal in the game.  Nothing.  One person could make Mortal Online in it's entirety in about a month with Unreal.  They made everyone pay not only full price but a hugely bloated price for pre-order boxed sets that may or may not exist.  The tracking numbers on all 10K plus orders are false.  If you want to find proof of that just run the tracking number through DHL.  Invlaid.  Garunteed.

This game is not only vaporware but it's a legal con.   THey even go so far as to try and block refunds for people who got no confirmation of the purchase but were charged in full and can't even log in to see their account information.  They tried to stop my refund.  Pay Pal is going after SV for fraudulent tracking numbers and the altered ship dates.  SV is going to be burried in legal battles before they could ever possibley launch this craphamper they call a sandbox MMO.

Well, if SV promised to ship the final release on Sept 1st when selling the pre-orders, they are in breach of the agreement and buyers have every right to request/receive a refund.
