I knew it went to charity. I didn't realize there were any rich people following this game. The only thing I learned from your post it that you are a total jerk. And insulting people on the internet doesn't give you good karma.

lol

11 million people play WOW. SO of course some of them are bound to be rich.  But there  are probably only 100k or so people following this game closely.

Which, to me, is great.

I hope the winner enjoys the game - whether they do or not, both that person and Star Vault did a good thing.

Aye, I was very glad to see it hit that amount.

I started doing some research to see what options were available to individuals who make donations, but couldn't get everything together in time toreally go through with it :P

one day...

Who want to pay alot of money for a box? Easy question to answere. Someone that got the money, is interested in the game and want to donate to charity. :) It´s complicated like that. Anything more you want to know? If earth is flat or round?

5100 to charity. turn around resell the box make more money.

cause tax write off  = less money to taxes so you save moeny.

resell it maybe get 5100++ for it cause clearly people want it even if it was a bit for charity people still wanted the box set.

so you could save money on taxes and resell it for almost the same price. make more money on it or close to.

main thing is its a nice jester. very few game companies do charity drives. or you rarely hear of them....

Good job avoiding the whole point you troll, go hide in a corner unless you can bring something constructive to the topic, though that is a joke in itself as this topic is just that, a joke, a trolling. And please learn what "at least" means before replying.

Since i created the topic, you are the one trolling. If you don't think its a valid topic, then ignore it instead of trolling it over and over.

Sorry bud.  You'd be the one trolling by even creating the thread, complaining about the costs when you admit you know its going to charity.

I'm not complaining, I'm just surprised someone would pay $5100 for a video game, even if it is for charity.

so many people are so naive its not even funny. They think buy donating a few bucks to charity they instantly become some "saint"? no you are still as useless as you were before and most of the money given to charities doesnt even reach its intended target in most cases....but yeah keep thinking you are making "a better world"...

Oh and the person who payed 5k for this game is rich enough to afford it good on him, he probably just wanted to be noticed, has nothing to do with charity.

People pay hundreds and thousands to go see Britney Spears lip sync........people wait in line for days to buy an I-phone.

People pay a monthly fee to beta test games.

People are lemmings

Donating to a charity is a good cause by any measure, regardless of the motives behind it If they want to feel like a saint then let them have their time. Like i said regardless of their motives its still a good cause, you are right in saying that sometimes it does not go to the intended party.

The largest example can be in some third world charities where it pays for the advert where they found out about the charity in the first place. But its also foolish to think that a chairty has no running costs thats why its called an not-for-profit organisation. If they did not have running costs > They would not reach the donors > No one gets helped ever.

Someone with the intention of helping others is better than someone doing nothing.

There is a reason people from your past did not make it to your future.
