Ryzom News - Creative Director Letter

With all the talk of Jessica Mulligan out of Nevrax, we sometimes forget about the head cheese himself: David Cohen-Corval. In the latest letter to the players, David talks about events.
| Without events, MMORPG in general are just cold and pointless mechanics. Events are the central part of the game story development. Born as subttle whispers or breaking thunders, events are the melody of our MMORPG. They travel the world like running winds and, like pollen insects or birds, they bring purpose to the players. Soon, like winds shape mountains, our new events cycle will begin the shaping of the story in the Saga of Ryzom. Some events will reveal what was kept secret, others will introduce new game elements, new NPCs, new creatures, new frontiers, and others yet will trigger new situations that raise the Homin stakes. Building up on themselves, and with long term implications, the SoR events will also be based on the players decisions and actions. We want you to influence the story. This is why the outcome of our new generation of events will be in your hands. Depending on your actions, or non actions, the end of the events will change, leaving their print on the world and the story. The Saga of Ryzom will become your story. |
