Welcome,

there are actually 3 localized servers, english, french and german (russian coming soon), so you have just one choice, that's the english server (Arispotle).

The game is a pve sandbox with different, not forced, types of pvp. You don't need to pvp at all, if you are not interested, to play the entire game.

First obvious tip is, once you are in the starting island (Silan, the tutorial), it's a wise choice to read the info the various npc will give you. The game is not quest driven but, obviously, the starting island present you some quest for teaching purpose. Anyway you can do all or you can just skip all. For the very first time, i suggest you do all the starting quests.

Second tip is, use the universe channel to ask questions and present yourself. There is a nice and very helpful community in ryzom that will warmly welcome you.

Last tip, don't be afraid by the difficulty, ryzom is not an easy game but you can get a lot of satisfaction once you learn more about the living planet.

Surviving the wilderness is the key, more than just killing mobs.
