Hello, I was wondering if someone could help me out. I'm not very literate when it comes to my computers hardware and how to maximize performance, but I have problems running Ryzom. It loads and enters the game fine but it seems choppy, like my desktop wasn't up to the job. I went to canyourunit.com and this is what they told me http://cyri.systemrequirementslab.com/srtest/analysis.aspx I appreciate any info given. |

im not sure using that link would be a good idea.. but could you be a bit more specific about what your system actually is, Ryzom isnt all that new of a game so i dont think the requirements are all that high.. i could be wrong.. but, more info would definitely be good. |

Unfortunately the link you gave takes us to a default page. Here a a few simple questions. What is your base gaming rig? Ex: processor Ghz, Ram amount and speed (ex: 4gigs at 80Mhz), graphics card RAM, make and model. From there we can give you more effective advice :) Edit: I was going to edit it for spelling, but to be honest I am to drunk and don't really care. That is all. - Case: Thermaltake Kandalf Black Chassis "I like wow, I like aion and I like AoC all for different reasons.....the later cause i get to see boobs, but still its a reason!!" - Sawlstone |

Sorry, here you go Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU 2.60GH , 2.59 GHz CPU speed , 2.0 GB RAM , Windows XP, GeForce 7600 GS . Hope that's enough Edit: One more tidbit, it mostly just gets choppy when I move the camera around, which is a lot heh. |

Hmhm, weird, should work fine with these specs. Though probably not with everything at peak settings. Reduce the Graphic settings a bit? I hope ypu don't have any other Programs running in the background, while playing, eh? ;) Like E-Mule, or Shareaza, or anything else which eats up performance and/or bandwidth. And I don´t quite understand why you looked at a third party "help-desk" first? Why don´t you look to the Ryzom Tech-Boards first?: forums.ryzom.com/forumdisplay.php Would be the logical first step for me ;)
Good luck! SaM Ryzom, we dare to be different.
Do you dare to adapt? |

just a thought, but it kind of sounded similar to a problem i used to have in SWG, the solution turned out to be reducing the viewing distance i think, as it wasnt a graphic holdup as such, but a client/server delay... |

yeah, rather than lowering graphics quality at first, decrease your maximum view ranges. The maximum view ranges in ryzom are way over anything your char should ever need, but look great if your comp can handle them of course ;) |
