I've been away from Ryzom for about three months now and when I left the population was extremely small.

I don;t know if the population increased at all but I personally would like to know what you guys that actually play the game think the pop is atm.

Across three servers imo when I left it had to be around 5k which would be a couple hundred in the game world at any given time on each server.

What do you think?

Also has the Developer commented on the Player activity at all? are they happy with the playerbase numbers?

Edit: One last thing, Before any new player sees this post and gets turned off by the low pop number I would like to say that even with this small number ryzom has a very tight knit community and while I was playing I had no trouble leveling in a team or running events and doing pvp on the weekends. so if you havent tried ryzom give it a go, just remember this is a MMO so don;t be anti-social lol.

Hard to say.

As most of us can probably speak for just one server out of the three working ones.

On Leanon (German) I´ve seen pretty much a balance of new Players coming and oldies leaving in the last years.

Since the re-start many old players returned and quite a few new ones came to see, some stayed some didn´t.

For some strange reasons many people seem to shun the official boards and thus there is almost no,:

"Hy, I new." culture, like in other games. Those few who do announce their arrival are recived well and nicely of course.

But I´m pretty sure that these are just a minority of those who really hopped aboard in the last month.

As far as I know the french Server still´s got the highest poulation, with the internatinal close by and the german server last.

Sadly we´re pretty low on newbes, despite our efforts to drag new german players in. *sigh*

:(

Have no clue about actual numbers, but i have noticed a lot more people coming to atys, and staying. We've had 8 new players join our guild alone in the past two weeks. Anyone else noticing a welcome increase of new people?

I think the fact that Ryzom ranks in the top 7 on mmorpg.com is helping some.  I hope more and more people try this game out and stick with it.  It really is something special when you compare it to everything else that is out there now.

Hopefully it'll be a +1 to server pop from me soon. Busy downloading the client - this game looks interesting.

Glad to see someone else checking out the game. Don't hesitate to ask questions in the Universe chat channel. Also, bump the graphic settings to high. The default settings look like crap.

Current: Ryzom, DFO
Played: WoW, CoV, SWG, EVE, LotRO, AoC, VG, CO
Tried: Lineage2, Dofus, WAR, EQ2, CoS, FE

I haven't found any options ingame for AA and AF, but force it in your videocard settings ( ati catalyst control center or nvidia equivelant ). It makes a huge difference.

Arispotle seems pretty active, if I had to make a guess, I'd say around 10k active subs.

I would have to agree. I would imagine that there are probably 1-2k (maybe) active subs. There are a handful of truly devoted players that I see on regularly. Maybe 30-40 active guilds.

That is correct.

But yah, I need some more playtime to get a real feeling about sub numbers :p

I send a mail where I asked for Ryzom's subscription numbers, but I doubt I will get any :)

I couldn't give two shits about Ryzoms population.

The players in this game are freaking fantastic and even if the game had thirty people playing I would enjoy every minute of it with them.

o/ Atys

Why would I play a pathetic themepark MMO when I could enjoy a masterpiece like Mass Effect, Oblivion, Fallout 3 and Dragon Age?

I heard that the community was a bit snobbish and rude to new players, telling them to "go back to WoW."  Therefore I have no interest in playing.  Especially because I hate WoW.

I'd say Ryzom's small population was the friendliest of any game I have played.

Actually a bit too friendly, very cult like.

When did you try the game? during Ryzoms free to play period last year we had a bunch of asshats clogging up universe chat (global help). Now that it's P2p (10 bucks a month) with a 21 day trial we lost all of the shitty f2p players.

I suggest you try the game the community is spectacular. Oh just one thing before you try, in ryzom you can't jump. wanted to get that out of the way before you complained in uni.

Happy hunting.

I'm not sure who told you that or when they tried the game, but Ryzom's community is hands-down the friendliest, most helpful MMO community I've come across. Even more helpful than LotRO. It's like the polar opposite of AoC.

Ah yes, of course.

And I´ve heard that WoW has never had any Goldfarmers, and that we eat newbes for Dinner too.

Admittedly, if someone behaves like he´s just come off a tree, has a spelling ability of a pocket calculator ("1337 LTP, N008!") and generally waves his e-peen in everyones face, like he was the next gift from the gods to the server, I´d gladly tell him to go back where he came from time and again.

But that´s just me and I´ve always been one for the upper crust and the mental cream of gaming. And I´m very protective of my sever. *settles back on his divan and gets the girls to fan the palm leaves faster*

And btw. I hate WoW too.

Who´d ´ve guessed?
