After finding several helpful posts in this forum I was finally able to download, install, patch and register. I would NEVER have found the key code relying on just the Fileplanet and Ryzom sites...

But here's my new problem: whenever I log on, the game starts to load, and as it gets to the phase of "loading sheets" it crashes back to Windows.

What the...?

Could it have anything to do with the initial login screen telling me there are 99999 players on the only server? Or is it a problem with my client?

You might want to disable OpenGL and enable Direct3D if you have a Radeon graphics card. Can you please try and be a little bit more specific?

I actually have a Geforce card, but since so many suggest switching to D3D I tried it anyway. It still crashes in the exact same place, but now it doesn't want to send a bug report to MS anymore...

Anyway, browsing the forums on the official site, I find that people are having all sorts of technical problems, including a few that have the same problem I do. No real solution is being offered for most of these.

Oh well, guess this game wasn't quite ready for release, huh? You'd think most crash bugs were ironed out in alpha or the earlier beta phases, but what can you do? Wait for the next patch, that's what...
