APB: Reloaded News - Q&A in Video Podcast #6

Posted by Michael Bitton on Jul 15, 2009  | 0 comments in our forums

Running at about eight minutes in length is this newest entry to the APB podcast series. The sixth entry to the series, this podcast features a Q&A from the community.

A brief summary of the Q&A is available below:

Asked whether motorcycles would be in the game, the developers respond that there are currently no plans for motorcycles at release, but they are looking into implementing them post launch.

They've not decided on a business model yet, but they do say they they are not looking at the traditional subscription model.

Guilds will be available in the game, they will allow for up to 150 members, you'll be able to customize your appearance and symbols, as well as tag up certain areas of the environment (not everywhere though!)

When asked about different platforms the developers state PC is the only planned release at the moment, but they intend to explore other opportunities once the game has gone live.

There will be at least 30 weapons that run the gamut from lethal, non-lethal, and explosive. There will also be 30+ cars.

No lobbies in APB, players will simply go about their business and be matched up seamlessly through a system that works behind the scenes. For example, you may be out patrolling as an Enforcer and another player is committing a crime somewhere, the game will match you on its own with no input needed from the player.

When asked about beta stages, the developers responded that APB is currently in Friends and Family stage, and they are looking into going into Closed Beta this fall, with a full open public beta by the end of the year.

Emotes were asked about as well, and several are demo'd including a multitude of dances and some insults.
