I have been following MMORPG.com news for a few years now, I never wanted to take place in posts about my favourite games saying how bad they are and stuff, but I finally understand people here, APB was shut down due to failure of the original owners, it was relaunched under GamersFirst, it was renamed to APB: Reloaded, I loved APB, it was fun, when I heard it was going free to play I was so excited, I got to log into the beta, and I saw EVERYTHING costed real money. True, I didnt have to pay for game time, but whats the point if I have to pay for everything else? I am no millionaire, a lot of us arent, we make money, but we need most of that money for other things in life, what kind of sane person would spend all his money on ingame equipment? In my opinion, GamersFirst ruined the game.

Please do share your opinions, and please, do not criticize me as this is my first ever post on this forum, I saw others show their opinion and I merely wished to do the same

Do missions and you easly buy ingame weapons and use the auction house to buy you spiffy ride or the agents. I can tell ya you can play that game 100% free and not spend a dime and still get far. And their is perminant weapons you can buy and cars. So inshort their way of doing things was actually decent considering  things. Yes item mall weapons can be better but then again skill + ingame weapons= owning the mall runner witht he spiffy gun.

Gamersfirst is simply the old company K2 networks.  I always figured they changed the parent companies name to hide their past misdeeds from the public.  They charge crazy prices their games are pay to win and always have been.  Back in the day I remember playing knight online it was of course pay to win and to make things worse dupping was rapant.  I played legit and you can't imagine how many times I would buy something only to have it disappear from my inventory later that week because it was dupped at some point before I bought it.  Hackers infested their games and they did little.  I can't imagine they have changed much and from the pricing in apb it sounds like pay to win is still the norm.  Just skip the trash companies game and move on, if it has to do w/ gamersfirst it won't end well.

I hear your discontent but like fatboy said skill will always win, I have yet to play APB:R i've wanted to but fact of the matter is I have an older PC on its last few legs and I hardly have enouhg space on my HD for it anymore. Biggest problem I had back in the with APB was the lact luster it left me with after awhile I felt there should be more PvP things to do such as maybe have gangs fight for ground, make it more gritty, and the enforcers should also fight for something I thought a new zone should be made just have two got boring so fast.

Fair warning. Their cash shop items are insaely price. For example, a good $20 or $30 dollars for a permanent gun. Sometimes with some luck you can find a perm gun on sale. If you don't have premium you are greatly limited on your cash rewards. As free guns are expensive and temporary, it takes you quite a while on a free acccount to earn enough money for weapons, only to have it dissapear in 10 days. On top of that hackers have pretty much free reign of the game, so be prepared to face a great many aimbots and wallhacks. The publisher doesn't really care, so don't expect anything to be done about it.

"For the Angel of Death spread his wings on the blast,
And breathed in the face of the foe as he passed:
And the eyes of the sleepers waxed deadly and chill,
And their hearts but once heaved, and for ever grew still!"

I have no intention of returning I had my fair share of the game back when it was under old management, I'd honestly play WAR, DAoC and EQ hell even WoW before i went back to APB.

If all you do in reloaded is run the missions, then things get expensive and it sucks.

You need to spend more time partaking in the open world aspect of the game, accumulating money.  Enforcers have a harder time with this since they cant just rob their way to wealthy.

After a few weeks, i had more than enough money to buy whatever i wanted.

Also, the starter weapons do more than fine if you are a skilled FPS player.  Im not, ive had my ass handed to me many times by players going the cheap route.

Not to say that buying a fully upgraded weapon for like for the ridiculous price of $50 isnt a huge advantage, just that money in this game is so easily made, especially for criminals, that the act of renting weapons, even upgraded ones, isnt nearly enough of a money sink to put a damper on your gametime.

Since it was your first day, this may have seemed like a horrible situation.  Your starter weapons are competative, and i would suggest spending a good week roaming the map and partaking in the open world crime vs law part of the game.  Go rob stuff, or look for other players in vans, stalk them when they fill up on stolen goods arrest them.  This is not only (imo) more fun that the missions are, but yeilds much more money than them.

Do the missions to unlock stuff.
