I played through two of those missions.  They were really good and captured that trek feeling. Totally impressed.

I think more and more we'll see MMOs turn to crowd sourcing. It's certainly more of a futur that cash stores.

I have mixed feelings. I probably will renew my account to make some missions ( I hope its *easy* to make the missions). Unfortunately, they tried this in City of Heroes, my all-time favorite mmo. It became a big power-leveling machine, which itself generated a large backlash. People are so dumb. Even if it becomes a huge powerleveling machine, you can still play all sorts of *new missions and ocntent!* But hardly anyone  runs them in CoH. Years ago I was planning to run a Star Trek tabletop rpg group and I DEFINITELY have ideas. I just hope that people actually PLAY my missions and like them.

Also: people need to grow up about cash stores. IF the game is good, and  IF the game company treats the game community well, then players should be in favor of a cash store because you are supporting a game that you like. I love buying booster packs for CoH and items from the STO cryptic store. Yes, some things are overpriced, but again, its going towards the game, so I don't really mind.

sto's cash shop is nice though, its not like you have to buy core game elements like quests for areas.......*cough* lotro *cough*, its just extras, character slots, races, ship skins, etc etc.  i miss sto, i think i may have to fix my comp just to play again

I just bought the game myself, and found it to be quite fun. Am looking forward to some of the really good player created stuff; might even try my hand at it eventually.

The only thing that could draw me back to STO is a fully developed Klingon faction. Still pretty anemic.

These missions could really bring STO to new level. Very excited to try them!

Yes the missions are good.(saw the Video) What will happen when the players that make them stop. Sto is more of on action mmo with content you can only play one time.

These people will no doubt step up and cater to some of the more demanding fans in the game. It essentially allows you to direct your own episode. Genious. Especially for something like Star Trek.

The video shows the player created mission that Cryptic have selected and transfered to from the Test to Live server.  I have to say I was sceptical of UGC.  But having played them, I am totaly convinced.  In particular, I was blown away by 'The Syndicate Extraction' by Galactrix - so much detail, and very proffesional created.  STO is going to be around for a long time.

Nirwyl get a grip man its just allowing you to create your own content for fun. no game has that so. i dont see what you mean.

STOked Podcast has a really great review of the migrated content.  STO has improved by leaps and bounds since its release to the public.  I encourage everyone to give it a shot.  There is a FREE Demo available off of the official website:
