Finally.. Enterprise is beyond us & I hope I can forget this horrible horrible idea for a show... The new idea needs to be great... I hope it can be something like I've suggested before. Ship : Enterprise Captain : Jonathan Frakes Doctor : Robert Picardo or Alexander Siddig Additional officers : Garrett Wang & Robert Duncan McNeill So sure some of these guys aren't going to be willing or perhaps just won't suit a roll anymore, but, this idea is very flexable. The idea is to get back to the 'current' time-line.. to not add more inconsistancy ... & to develop NEW characters to assume new roles.. Because the alternative, eventually, would be a new Enterprise show, in the future, with a WHOLE new Enterprise crew... again though, new character development that can be used in the 'current' time-line would be great but familiar faces & characters are a win for sure. These are my updated thoughts, feel free to give me some input. don't forget many hot female officers for extras |

Wait? Is this real, od you would like?
I really doubt its gonna be something anytime soon... Enterprise just didnt have the ratings... Point is... They will never get anyone from the original series back for roles, mayybe, maybe for one or two apearances, but thats it. Besides, its been so long since the series, people change, theyre old and fat now... Havent you seen Nemessis, they are all old and fat... I would allways watch if they make a new one... but i really doubt |

I agree there should be another Star Trek series. However, it needs to break the traditional presentation of the Star Trek's we knew and loved. First, new cast - new crew. Of course, the crew from 'Enterprise' was poorly written and developed. That would need to be avoided. Second, needs more drama. Again, Enterprise tried to make itself Dramatic with the 3rd season, but it didn't play out too well. No doubt masters of the art like J.J. Abrams could demonstrate this in the next movie. Perhaps base the series on the Enterprise-F? New captain? No matter what road it takes, it shouldn't be given up on. Star Trek has a history of being a rollercoaster in ratings. Just get better writers, replace Rick Berman and up the CGI budget. :)

I like to see Star Trek really break from the mode.......have a series based on Klingons with other races mingled.
Or a show based on Vulcans...etc. |

i think that would be a great ideal to do for a star trek show to bring it back on the air maybe bring back some of the others like picard or janeway just on some shows

I'd looooove to see a new series, but I am not holding my breath. I'm a big TNG & DS9 fan, Voyager a little less (the Janeway factor Grrrr I think that trying to get the actors back for a new show will never ever happen. Especialy the TNG cast as they cost too much now, and they have been there and done that. Riker as captain? MMmm I like the idea of a 'USS Titan' show, but I think they are all to old now and he is busy with his directing career. Has anyone seen Marina Sitris of late? I dont think she can fit into a uniform anymore - too much Chocolate! She is great though I don't want to ruin all the good memories and experiences I have. I think a fresh NEW cast (with some return characters i.e. Nog?) and a good set of writters us a must ... but they have all moved on also. No doubt the studios will kick into gear eventually and we will be seeing "Star Trek : Fleet Academy" (ie Beverly Hills 90210) Nooooooooo! Whatever happens, I have the great memories to fall back on, and the anticipation for STO |

A jump forward is needed. With the new pending movie taking us back to the days of Kirk and Spock....a new series would need to go forward at least 40 years. Long enough for Nog to be a Captain or Admiral. Long enough for the introduction of the Enterprise 1701-F/G. New Captain, new crew.....new races and threats...new technology.....new Transwarp speeds to be able to explore the otherside of the galactic spiral and go to the Andromeda Galaxy. Maybe have a new Q type benevolent nemesis.

Big fan here... Always looking for the next incarnation. No hurry though.. I want it to be well written and casted. One thought i did have was that maybe it would be interesting to have a miniseries that involved an alternate universe Star Trek, one that was steam punk. There was recently a contest for artist to do renderings of Star Wars in Steam Punk fashion... the entries were excellent. I say mini series because while this may be a fun idea. I cant envision a long term series from it.

Enterprise was a gross violation of the whole mood and ethos of the Star trek universe, it just sucked on so many levels. That said, if a new series ever happens, I would argue for an infusion of ideas, characters, and atmosphere from the most recent novels. The writing has been much more consistent in the last few years, and there is an expansion of the scope and pallette without abandoning the core notions of the IP. Titan? I'd be surprised if Jonathan Frakes was averse. Anyway, just my two cents. |

Would that really be so bad? Well, the Starfleet Academy setting, anyway. It's frickin' Starfleet Academy, after all - not some random high school. You have a mix of Terran and non-Terran students with all the different backgrounds and perspectives and potential sources of conflict. And while you do indeed have history classes, there's also warp theory, navigation, survival training, first contact, training cruises, concerts, athletic events, diplomatic incidents, holodecks, science labs, visits home, vacations... If it's focused on the instructors, you wouldn't have to worry about the characters graduating. Have students as recurring guest stars or something, but the series wouldn't revolve around them. The series might not be very long lived, but isn't ER still on the air? ;^) ------------- |

I'd really like to see something like the 60 minutes of CGI animated cinematics in-game created for "Star Wars: The Force Unleashed" that was released September 2008. check out the production values at 1:59 of the plane crash.
No not 2D animation and not basic 3D animation without many features like "The Clone Wars" but more like the above 2 examples. The Clone Wars cost $1-2 million per episode. (22 minute episode) Paramount could make money on something like the Resident Evil CGI type of film as a miniseries. |

If they do make a new series, it needs to focus on a ship that's not the Enterprise. Maybe the post-STVI / Pre-TNG era. It's been mostly unexplored so far and would allow plenty of cameos. |

I somewhat liked the idea of the Starfleet Academy show, but I imagine it would end up drawing the same sort of 'hate' that many people directed at DS9. "It isn't on a ship so it isn't Star Trek." "They never go anywhere, it is boring." "Why do we have to see the same places over and over again, this sucks." Personally, I have always liked DS9 ( O'brien being probably my favorite ST character over all ) but I can understand why the studios might be reluctant to go down that route again. If they were to do another ST show, it would be interesting if it was shown from the point of view of the normal crew-members rather then the command staff. The people on the ship that actually work for a living making things happen and the ship run and doing all the work that normally goes on behind the scenes. One of the reasons I always have liked O'Brien is that he was the 'everyman' character, your average working-joe, instead of an officer. A show based around the people that get the jobs done would be a nice change of viewpoint and yet still be able to capture the feeling and style of Star Trek. |

While I would watch an Academy based show, I too think many would point out "no ship no trek"
The prequel comics (and STO) have Data as Captain of the Enterprise. I thought a show set far enough that Data had been aesthetically upgraded would be nice.

That sounds like a great idea; there can only be so many episodes about how great and adaptable and altruistic humans are. In that regard, DS9 was a huge step forward -- different races in one place living together, and even the good guys weren't always so good. Unfortunately, such a series might only appeal to a niche market and could potentially cost a fortune in makeup, especially if there were many non-humanoid species portrayed. |

I loved Enterprise. However, I didn't watch it during its initial run. I just got exposed to the reruns last year. By the series finale I felt sad that it was "ending," but I was three years too late. Still, going back in time wouldn't make much sense. I mean ENT showed the beginning of the Federation. Either they could do another show contemporary with TNG, DS9, Voyager; go forward in time; or go back between the TOS and TNG eras. Frankly, I don't think we'll see another show for a long time. CBS will probably let Abrams ride the new Trek out for a while with a series of movies. I've not heard any rumors of any new shows even being discussed. |
