I am posting this info for people who may have not paid attention to this year's E3 Expo.

Paramount Digital Entertainment and Digital Extremes are collaborating on a new Star Trek game for PS3, Xbox 360 and PC that is based on J.J. Abrams' twisted Trek universe.  The game's timeline is set between 2009's Star Trek film and Abrams' sequel.  The game was expected to release the Summer of 2012 to coincide with and help build momentum for the upcoming film.  However the film's release has been delayed by up to a year, so the game may debut late as well.

The game's story is being written by Marianne Krawczyk (God of War series) in collaboration with Bob Orci who is co-writing the next Trek film.  Gameplay will be single player and co-op action-adventure (play as young Kirk or Spock).  The game engine is Digital Extremes' own Evolution Engine, which they created for The Darkness II (slated to release Feb. 2012).

Sony and PDE also announced that the PS3 version of the game will include a Phaser attachment for the PlayStation®Move motion controller.  A downloadable "prequel" to the game will be available before release exclusively on the PlayStation®Network.
