When I was a kid, TNG was the series that was popular. I only watched it occasionally, so I can't say I am a Trekkie. However, I decided to give Star Trek a go and decided to start with The Original Series. I watched The Original Series, then movies associated with that series, and so on. Now I'm on the second season of TNG and have seen up to First Contact as far as movies go.

You haven't seen the Enterprise until you've seen it in all its glory in Blue-Ray. I also seen where they got the rifles from and the uniforms for TNG Uniform selection in character creator. But anyways, that's all I really wanted to say. I just seen First Contact, and I thought the Enterprise looked splendid. Made me even more excited to be playing STO.

Well as far as I'm concerned you've seen the best of TNG on screen with First Contact. Insurection was a bit of a letdown and Nemesis wasn't bad but a lot of good stuff was left on the cutting room floor. It's too bad the Dominion War never saw any big screen time because a lot of the battles were epic enough for it.

MMOs played:SWG,NGE,Warhammer, World of Warcraft, Star Trek Online,Eve, Star Wars the Old Republic.
Favorite MMO: Star Wars the Old Republic
Least Favorite MMO: NGE

Didn't like First Contact as much simply because I'm not a big fan of the Time Travel plot device.  But I grew up on TNG, so I probably relate best to that series.

Question, does anyone know if there are any time travel plots in STO?

There are time-travel episodes, yes. Some allow you to interact with some of the shows. There are also Mirror Universe episodes.

Well, First Contact showed me why some people can believe Star Trek is fine being focused on action. In fact, many of the Star Trek movies are packed with action, and I'm not there yet, but I bet each Star Trek series become more and more action oriented. The Original Series was more about exploring and solving mysteries than warring. TNG seems more about drama, exploring, mystery solving, and some action. We'll see how DS9 is, but from the few episodes I seen of it, it was more action oriented.

So the more I watch Star Trek shows and movies, the more I think STO does a decent job of representing Star Trek. That doesn't mean STO is my ideal Star Trek game, just that I think STO is a good Star Trek game. Hopefully in a decade when technology is better, I will see most of our ideal Star Trek game.
