They are in the business to make money...you don't get money unless you generate interest in your product. This is just the start of that. The two games would be targeting the same general market, MMO's...but they target different niche markets within the larger MMO market. EVE Online and SWG would be direct competitors for STO...among other Sci-fi MMO's. For Champions Online the only direct competitor they have is City of Heroes/Villains as they are the only comic book MMO I know of. With that magazine shot it pretty much confirms Cryptic is the STO developer or at least are tied to it in some way. That much is clear from the use of the image. I agree. Ok at the post you quoted I agreed it was definately a ST:O background. I figured it out after finally noticing a post on Cryptics site. No discussion there anymore. I was grumpy in that last post because I spent all morning searching the people in the interview trying to figure out wtf Jive and Jim were talking about. Guess what all my hits were pretty dam old and dead ends. My blonde roots were showing. =P What I mean by Easter Egg. Is that there is any doubt that they owned ST:O. But this is a way of saying it while rekindling the gossip. It obviously worked didn't it? Several sites have been hit and buzzing about the stupid timer. Reasons why it might not be for ST:O. This is taken from Cryptic forums. Since I know very little about Champions Online. I just noticed this, this morning while on my hunt for enlightenment to Jim and Jive's posts. Pudge , Post #41 http://forums.champions-online.com/showthread.php?t=6167&highlight=timer&page=5 I expect as it is a good week past the E3 convention, we will get to see a major content update from Cryptic. By then they will have finished the E3 convention, did all the press sneak peaks and demos (allowing all those gaming mags and sites to have some semi-exclusive peeks at CO), and finally spill out the goodies to the general public. I expect a lot more screen shots, trailers, and details on CO gameplay once the clock ticks down. EDIT: Oh! And Cryptic has a Cthulhu-like game it seems in the works. That might mean the website for that game goes live once the clock ticks down. Again, after being announced the previous week at E3. End quote: **You totally lost me when you lol'ed at my beta remark. I have no clue why. I said it was obvious it wasn't a Beta for the game. Is it so hard to believe that it might actually not be related to ST:O. It very well maybe. But there is sufficient enough evidence I think to make someone question other wise. Forgive me for not following the crowd. It's not always my style. :P I wasn't going after Jive. I was trying to simply figure out wtf he was talking about. I think it is pretty evident at this point I was taken for a ride when he realized that I did not see it. Good gawd. Blonde moment ok. There... dang. =D P.S. Did you figure it out on your own or did you figure it out after spoting a reference elsewhere. Either way congrats to you..

It is an announcement related to Star Trek Online. As why would they use an old STO Concept Art picture of the Final Frontier as background for another MMO. Second this picture has nothing to do with Champions Online. Too realistic compared to the comic look Champions Online will have. And I highly doubt you will be able to fly with your hero to the Final Frontier in Champions Online ;) Cheers
