There has been no word on this from anyone other than hopeful fans. STO should take its rightful place in the dictionary as an example of the word "vaporwear".

I think when that ticker on Cryptics website hits zero we will get an announcement that the new game is indeed Star Trek Online. Sure there is a chance it won't be but from all the rumors and the fact that the game was never killed (all assets turned over to a new company in the bay area) I believe it will be Star Trek Online. If you want an official definition of Vaporware look no further then Darkfall (been in some sort of development for over a decade).

The countdown hit zero, a box popped up saying launch time. I clicked it and then the site went boom.. haven't been able to get it to come back up yet. I keep getting a page loading error. There are probably thousands of people hammering the site now to find out what the big announcement is.

So how does it taste to eat your own words? vaporware doesn't tend to get licensed by major companies with established games under there belt. Nor does it announce gameplay footage to be shown in August, immediatly upon announcing having the license no less.
