So you've done it so many times and still can't get it right? Sounds like a personal problem

Apart from the endless debates that could go on. I think in light of recent events, and many awards that Runes of Magic has won, shows it to be a fantastic entry into the F2P field.

I have many, many other personal beliefs as well, that really shouldn't be started here based on my feelings around what I think is a false negative stigma about all F2P operations to begin with, and how those stigma's are overshadowing the great things many F2P games are accomplishing such as new innovative features, and improvements in many areas.

I think there are many areas of RoM that no one really takes note of, but are a major factor in why it's so popular and fun. Just to name one, I think any and every MMORPG out there should give you the option to fully customize armor, and change the look of your armor pieces and colors the way RoM does.

But I'll probably bow out of this thread, and wait for another one :P

It would be helpful to hear your critical assessment of the game so your opinion has some facts for others to make a judgement from. I am still playing the game and enjoying it a lot because of the dual class system (I can be a tank and a caster depending on my mood). The download is pretty huge and hopefully that is something that will be addressed soon so more people can try it out and we can get more people to play with. The game has ample quests to keep you bust and all of the content is accessible with enough time. Crafting was just overhauled and is a lot more fun than before since we can create items that are higher powered than before. The armor and weapon upgrading system with jewels and hammers is awesome. It's worth trying!

I can give you some input, since i am VERY knowledgeable on the game.

NO CONTENT,that would be the biggest MOST important factor it is not?

EXTREMELY cash dependent game, that alone is a must to stay away from the game. The support is awful, takes them forever ,because the REAL support is in Taiwan and the GM's that handle the forums and the game are total idiots, and that is saying it mildly.

A perfect example of the GM's and how lame they are,yo uwill NEVER see any response to actual game problems, except"show me your DX diag",HOWEVER some kiss ass posts that he loves the BUNNY CHANGE event[totally childish lame event imo] and ALL the GM's show up to post how pleased they are that someone loves their events. So you never hear from them until you kiss their ass, real immature GM's and yes they are VERY quick to ban anyone that shows ANY negativity towards the game.No i have not been banned because i know how lame the GM's are,you cannot tell them anything that is a problem with the game, they will FABRICATE a reason to ban, again a very immature bunch of GM's.

Changing players into bunny rabbits  ! are you kidding me?a friggin joke, and they repeat the same events over and over, come find me in my house and figure out my secret password,oh yay such fun.

I'm mostly an FPS person so I play very little RPG (three years later and my main Silkroad toon was only lvl31). I tried WoW but don't play enough RPG to justify the monthly fee. I stopped playing Silkroad when the bots took it over.  Now I'm playing RoM and Atlantica, and I enjoy both. I love Atlantica's turn based combat and RoM's two class system.

RoM is the closest RPG to WoW that I've played...and it's free! I won't argue with that.

If you play 12 mmo's at the same time thats kinda sad to be fair...

Waiting for Guild Wars 2, SW:ToR and STO.
Currently playing Guild Wars, LoTRO).
Played WoW, GW, CO, DDO, RoM, WAR, LoTRO, Allods (Beta) + Tons more that aren't even worth mentioning!

Oooh, looks like a close call between DDO and Rune of Magic for Best Free To Play MMO of 2009, with RoM slightly in the lead.

massively reader choice awards.

I've only ever once used the term WoW clone.  To me it is way over used and people really stretch it.

I have said that Allods "looks" meaning strictly the way the graphics looks, and the character look+ their fluid animation style is really similar to WoW.

The one time I out right used the term is for Alganon.  Apart from a few of their own features, Alganon looks and plays identical to WoW.  The actual way you play: keystrokes, how most systems work, work the same way as in WoW.  They'll probably do good.

As for any other game being a WoW clone, I just don't see it.
