Just a casual comment, to all those that mentioned it runs out of quest or leveling too slowly. Go out and play any other F2P online MMORPG game and u can reach end lvl in the amount of time u use in this game. Name me anyone other than maybe Perfect World. Majority of the F2P games out there is just about grinding for days just to get that 1 lvl. Even me playing casual hours on weekends only i`m already at max lvl after 2~3 months. I dun even spent a single cent on this game yet and i have up-to-par gears, u just need to play smart. Buy and Sell at good opportunity. Understand how good gears are being made. If u want to be a GOD like soloing an instance meant for a full party then u burn your money to buy diamonds to get the catalyst to become GOD. Because diamond does not grant u direct access to GOD mode, u still have to run instance and use the things u bought from diamonds to make GOD items. |

The point of playing a game is to have fun. RoM becomes to repeative at high lvs. Bsically they need more objetives etc. then just grinding. |

Did you ever consider that maybe people think WoW and McD's ARE offering the best quality compared to their competition? So this is sort of a "you're right and the world is wrong" type of thing. One person's "silly" is another person's "fun". I will concede that it is obvious that you have no idea.
A lot of people think ROM sucks and WoW is good. That's okay, they are entitled to an opinion just as you are. But the facts are that a LOT more people agree with him than agree with you.

The OP needs to learn this, and there's no way I'd ever believe he has played many MMOs. Otherwise he'd see the finer points of this objectively. Yes it's pretty much an Asian WoW, except it's made more in the spirit of fun while WoW is catered to PWN Your Faces people, or those unfortunate who don't know better yet. ;P Also I have a hard believing anyone trashing this game has any experience with F2P.... i agres with you ,this is one of the better title in f2p |

I would not say RoM sucks, not really. I did play RoM the whole beta. The game is decent, in terms of graphics and features. Sure, from all F2P/MMO I played, RoM is clearly a WoW clone. It has nothing innovative like the unique pet system in Rappelz or the turn-based combat system in Atlantica Online. The dual class system? Well, at the time of the release, that was simply a fail. It added little to nothing in terms of character customization, but greatly increased the time of the leveling process and artificially (wrongly) added some class choices. However there is something sucking badly, and that is the RoM game designers : a week before the release, they decided to completely change the whole game mechanisms. The day of the patch, nobody were recognizing the characters people spent months to create. The changes were so huge that a lot of players simply quit the game right after. Also, the high level game content was pretty lacking, at least at the time of the release. I reached max level (50/50) but there was little to do. The only thing the dev team found to counter that was to drastically increase the mob damage in the few instances available, thinking that would keep the HL players busy. The result was simply all the HL players boycotting those instances as it was not possible to succeed anymore (any trash mobs there was one-shotting any class...). Those behaviours are clearly not acceptable. Being so disrespectful to their customers (the gamers) really sucks. The fact they did those big changes right before the release - and not at the alpha/closed beta stages of the game - made me think they could do it again anytime after the release. Maybe I'm wrong. Maybe they learnt from all those very big mistakes... |

OP...Regardless of what you think, people are going to disagree on whether a game is good or not. When I first started playing WoW, I thought it stunk. But, I gave it some time (more than 3 months) and I really started enjoying it. And...Warhammer was the buggiest game that I have ever played even though it has some innovative aspects to it. Pet pathing ruined the best class in the game and I don't know if it is fixed yet. Like AoC, it could have been good if it hadn't been for a premature launch. But, to comment on the original title, ROM does have it's hangups, but it is really good for a free game. Calm down...it's beta. These things are supposed to happen in beta. |

I played EQ from beta on for about 7 years. I even gave WoW a shot (I gave up on pay to play) This is one of many F2P MMO's I've played and I like it 38 Warden/Druid. If i want to quest for levels I quest ... If I want to grind I grind. The duel class system is also nice ... If i want to go beat the crap out of all the mobs I go warden or if I want to sit back and watch the show I go druid, I don't have to have 3 accounts to be able to play the class I want when I want I just swap and go. |

It depends on your budget and expectations.
If you can only afford $15/month, then play WoW. If you can afford $100/month, then play RoM and become a heavy CS user.
If you expect 24/7 customer support, then play WoW. If you can get by with virtually no customer support, including bug fixes, then play RoM.
Carebears play WoW. Real gamers play RoM. |

If you only have $15/month play FFXI, or try EQII ... forget WOW... stretched textures and toontown graphics.
...and ROM is a lousy , uninteresting poorly balanced piece of crap.
See? I didn't use the word "Sucks" at all. |

I have just started playing and I enjoy it. I like the house feature, the horse hire and the crafting. Maybe it will get dull at end game, but I'll find that out. I like the customability of the toons (though I've seen better toons). I also like the dual class system. This game wants to try something different. Most MMOs are not much different from Muds of years ago. Oh and if anyone doubts my experience, I have been playing MMOs for about 4 years (WOW, WAR, EVE, tons of free ones) and this one I have enjoyed more than most of the others and all of the free ones (though Perfect World was also as good) and I have paper rpg'd for 20 years. |

This game doesn't suck. Nor does it go above and beyond any other F2Ps. Anyone who says this game isn't like WoW needs to get their eyes examined. Not only in looks, but in play style as well. The game is kind of like a "virtual splenda" it's a good substitute if you're willing to tolerate it. |

The nature and history make WOW the game that all games will be measured against, love wow, hate wow, and strange enough all mmorpg's have got this relationship, you either love it or hate it, there seems to be no half measures in the world online role playing gaming. What I find interesting that people will always weight and measure a game against another game, and seem quickly to forget the unique experiences that games offer. What I like about ROM: It is free ( yes you can argue it is not truly free) but to me it makes a difference, I am not a hardcore gamer, I enjoy games but I do not have time to play a hour everyday, thus with no subscription model I do not feel like I am obliged to play everyday andcan pop in and out whenever I feel like it. So in aspects of casual gaming rom hit the spot for me The interface, I really like it, because it is wowish therefore familiar, rom has taken the best of wow and the add-ons and given it all in a handy package. I have not played wow in a about 2 years ( my account has been hijacked since the change over to whatever they have now, after basically being told by Blizzard to go get stuffed because I was not prepared to make an international call, i have given wow the big finger) any case I do not if wow includes a lot of the addon that you had to download seperately. The class system, I like the more traditional classes that reminds me of AD&D (pen & paper based to those that are younger than 20) The community, must say I have always experienced f2p communities more friendly / more forgiving than p2p communities, it is probably because the p2p attract the more hardcore crowd. I have been playing ROM only for 2 weeks and already my friends list exceed my LOTRO friends list. It appears that it is never difficult to get a quick group together to do something. What not to like: The grinding, but then again it is part and parcel of the whole mmorpg thing, I think the only mmorpg that I played that does not have so much grinding would be LOTRO, but there the gridning was cleverly hidden in a good story line The Lore, this is definetely where ROM is very lightweight, I have been actively playing for about 2 days ( that would mean about 2 weeks in normal time), and still I havenot discovered the greater plot, why am I here, whatis this all about, WOW wasleightweight as well, but at least it had the lore of Warcraft to back it, Guildwars has got excellent in depth lore, and obviously LOTRO has got the greatest fantasy work ever written to supply the lore and it was extremely well integrated in the whole experience, never once in LOTRO do you have any doubt what itis about. Lag, man I seem to pickup a huge amount of lag, maybe it is just me, maybe it is just my poor connection, but it is frustrating. I can probably find some other stuff to "rave" or "suck" about. Maybe ROM should be evaluated for what it is, a nice little casual romp in a fantasy world.
