I was having fun with the beta for this game up until the last couple of patches they just keep making it tougher and tougher and taking out the fun. They did a great job, with the content and the DC mood. But the overall gameplay just went downhill fast. |

Seems like I'm not the only one that thought it was quite tough even on lower levels if you play solo, usually I would say this is a little harder than usual and live with it but since this is a superhero game it doesnt feel right. |

I don`t mind the difficulty of the solo game. I like the challenge to be honest. It`s the group areas like Area 51 that are really hard in my opinion. To me, it would be a lot easier if people would just use their Bluetooth when grouped. I`m on PS3 so I can`t type for communication. Come on PS3 users, use the Bluetooth. |

Ok my thoughts after a week of Beta test play. 1) Artwork and cityscape 10 from 10. Unbelievably beautifull! I've played more than a few MMO's, and paid to play most of them, and they can't hold a candle to the DCUO world. 2) Voice acting, sound effects, and music. 9 from 10. I love having the Joker cackle in my ears, Batman telling me to be strong and Superman saying good job, and it's beliveable. The music as I roam the different cities, is fantastic and not a pathetic midi durge. Kick in a wall, land hard, your going to hear it, and grin as the rubble flies and smacks into the ground around you! 3) World population. Random people, foes, and encounters. I'm sorry to say 3 of 10. Too few models for henchmen, generally one or two types only, and repeated Lieutenants with similar bosses. It makes me think way too much of old arcade game battles. Killing the same three people over and over and over again. Samething for the civilians. Same models in every area. Wanna see something different, go somewhere else. 4) Controlls. 3 for 10. This game feels like a PS3 game that someone hastily wrote a program to go live on a computer with. I actually broke my 2 year old mouse clicking 10 times for one attack. Learning the combo's for different attacks isn't hard, but, I don't want to spend 3 hours left and right clicking like mad, if i did I'd buy a PS3 or X-box 360. 5) Story line. I so want to say 9 from 10, but I can't. It's a SOLID 7 from 10. You must complete all missions, there is no way around this. If you're a villain, you have no moral choices, no leeway. Same for the heroes. I hate that. Lemme be a little noble, a tad crooked, let me PLAY my character with warts, flaws and a little soft spot for the grannies if i want to. I know the blistered thumb crowd will call me a "troll" for this, and claim that I need to go lurk "World of Warcraft", but if you put a game out on the MMORPG circut, expect us to want to play it our way. We also will pay to get the game, and the monthly fee to play it, and some more accommidation such as more interactions socially are needed badly. I can see where DC is putting more material into the game for us computer players, but with 16 days till launch.... Overall review, 5 of 10. And I hate myself for scoring it so low, but as a role player who wants to slide in the moral gray, this game just isn't built for me at this time. 10, maybe 15 months from now, I think this game will kick "City of Hero's" butt, it already stamps "Champions Online" flat. |

My main issue was the gameplay it felt really boring and never got exciting for me. was lv 9 or 10 and i was so bored with the "story" and question that I didn't bother to log back in, i'd say avoid this game myself. Lots of much better mmo's coming soonish. save your money for those. |

Originally posted by savoryts This game is cool and the combat outstanding. Although enemies respawn rate is rediculous and hope they fix that cause it looks as a very nice game. |

Their were elements I enjoyed, loosly I compared this game to coh/cov.. The game aspect were easy to learn. Charcter configureation was nice. The power set I wasn't happy with,. I rolled 2 charcters on both sides good/evil. the powers and customs were identical. they should have changed that. I also agree with others post. after patches the game became harder to solo. if you ask yourself the question why then solo. Thats easy. Playing the beta, their was absoutly no I mean no community. I would read people spamming questions for help etc. not one single person helped anyone out. This sadly I feel has what has become of mmo's their is no rp aspects anymore or community.I reported bugs left, and right simple things such as npc's freezing and slideing to other sides of screens. I mean really. this close to launch and you aren't fixing those. at lower level. you goto a girl npc. I reported that bug. her voice was a man's voice. none of these were fixed. not once did soe, or dcu send Me feed back stateing thanks for pointing these things out,we are aware of it etc. they just weren't fixed. The super speed power was cool because you could run across water and up walls. To me the game just became way to reptive I stopped playing at level 17. the level cap in beta was 30. the powers just weren't cool or super enough for me. the graphics are awesome mouth watering. though. Once again I give this game a 6 out of 10. I won't be buying it.their is just no replaable value for me. Nothing that lures me to log in and do things. it's just like coh. same style of missions. they don't ever change. from level 1 to where I left off. I personally feel mmorpgs need to change their formats now,and really look inside their companies, instead of just pumping out cookie cutter games. As a audience we are smarter than this, and want more from something we have to pay to play. |

Liked my play sessions during beta.. Solid game, a good thing they delayed the launch though. Two things will make me wait a couple of months though : first, it's DC and I'm a huge Marvel fan... Give me the same game with Marvel lore and I would preorder and subscribe right away, even with my second point.. Too few character customization. Not enough powers, not enough costumes... CoH and CO have set the bar in term of character customization and DC don't make it to that point. Still, it's a good game in my opinion.. But with the latest MMO releases being disastrous. Think I'll wait a couple of months for people to hit max level and hear comments from the end game experience. We'll see then... |

I keep hearing mixed reactions to the game, still want to give it a try though. Does anyone have or know where to get a "Trial" or "Buddy Code"? I hear Subway was running some sort of promotion, but I haven't been able to find anything yet. Basically, I want to make sure: 1. How this runs on my laptop. 2. Try out the game and the battle system. 3. See if it's worth buying at all. I'm a long time CoH/CoV player and I'm looking a for something new. If anyone can lend a hand or point me in the right direction I'd appreciate it. |
