The ATB combat system means players should be familiar with turn-based strategy combat while also giving players the sense of tension that they expect from modern games.

if you ever played final fantasy. you should be familiar to it. it's a shorter version of the word Active Time Battle which is a time based combat system. (says itself doesn't it?) this makes an addition to Turn based combat like in the first final fantasies. and also making combat more hectic
