Battleground Europe is about to enter beta/stress testing. This is the first installment of the World War II Online virtual battlefield series.

PLAY TEST MMOG WWII COMBAT SIMULATION Beginning at 1200CT (US) on Thursday, August 25th, 2005 account creation forms will be made available on the official website for test accounts. Participants will receive instructions on how to download the pre-release client and information on where to submit error reports. Space will be limited for the test which will run from Thursday, August 25th through Sunday August 28th. From screenshots it seems they just added new stuff in old game.
Not only is WWIIOnline the largest and most multi-varied equipment war game available on the Internet but Cornered Rat Software doesn't rip their player base off like so many other Companies do.
Every single current Subscriber gets Battleground Europe for free. Their is no requirement to purchase the expansion pack.
I did buy it just for the maps and to show my general support for a game that has kept me very busy for over 3 years.
$29.95 for Battleground Europe.? I'm laughing. You have no idea what a bargain that is. For over 3 years these guys at Cornered Rat Software have not charged their playerbase a nickel for all the patches and development.

I believe you get one or two months free, but it is a hard copy of WWIIO. WWIIO has never gone retail, but has retained a large fanbase. Now, thousands of people will join the war and the game will change before our eyes with more organization, players, and patches and added-content. The graphics engine is being updated as I type this, so please don't judge the game on its graphics.
My WWIIO box I bought from EB from oh so many years ago speaks otherwise
