I have heard a lot of good reviews on this game, and actually played the trial, but never made it past the Tutorial missions on how to shoot your gun, throw gernades, ect...

How is the game different from other war games, as Im used to FPS such as BF2/BC2....IS it easy for youy and a friend to jump right on and get int he action?

Anyways, just wondering on some information and whatnot

Currently Playing: lotro,BC2 Trying out Vanguard

Looking forward to: GW2, BF3

Retired from: wow, eve, rift, FFXI

If your used to BF2/BC2 then the game as it is now will be great for you. It has a larger learning curve than those games and its based on real life physics not hitpoints and a RNG. No power ups no shields no health pacs least not the last time i was in game but who knows now lol. OH and no bunny hopping.

Anyway your biggest adjustment will be getting killed  its 1 shot 1 kill or a damage which is almost as good as being dead. 90% of the time you will not know what killed you and thats intended so dont waste to much time over that concept. Best advice I can give is you and your friend get in game and join a squad asap so they can teach you the things you need to know to survive. In this game there is no huge gap between a noob player and a vet other than learned skills such as concealment and placement . Being a good shot dont hurt ethier lol. Anyway have fun and dont let the graphics bug ya to much its still one of the most heart pounding induceing games on the market. And if you like that kind of thing then this game is made to order for ya.

WWIIOL is a game of strategy and team effort. I can give you examples of such gameplay, here goes:

1. Roll out with 2 dozen other tanks to capture a forward base, use teamspeak to communicate formations.

2. Under the cover of darkness, you and your small band of brothers infiltrate an enemy compound and capture it to secure land advancement. Then, shortly thereafter, planes come in and bombard your friends and re-take that position.

3. You and your captain crawl 10 yards away from enemy troops, and stay quite, giving intel of enemy positions and movement. In real time, maybe an hour later your friends are rejoicing over a pint about their accomplishments.

4. After hiking for hours behind enemy lines to your friendly camp, you find yourself 100 yards away from an enemy tank who has been sitting there for hours. You decide to flank the armor and sap the tank, thus securing a way for the leutenants jeep to come and pick you up.

GREAT game. Don't let the graphics fool you. The game is about working together as a team and forming plans which can take hours and hours real time to succeed. There is no pop, your alive 2 seconds after your dead, run in and spray, 30 seconds later rinse and repeat here. It can take minutes or hours before you are popping up daisies. I will reiterate this word, strategic gaming.

Enjoy!

I think I will give this game a shot as I wait for GW2 and BF3!

Now, what am I actually signing up for, just the 14 day trial?  I know it's F2P but very limited, but cant seem to find the seperate DL or account info
