Another patch, another laughable attempt at crs to please no body. Yay they killed the infantry game a little more by adding new buildings that CANNOT be entered. What a fu**ing joke CRS. 7 years now we have been asking for infantry anti tank weapons and still all we have is the very retarded and unrealistic sapper that every one hates and the ATR (anti tank rifle) which is all but useless after tier 0.
Still no bazookas or panzersheiks. For 5 years though they have been telling us that they are all modeled and will be in the game "soon".
This company is a joke. Always has been. |

I got a major FPS increase in 1.29. In town infantry was 80 to 100 plus minus during fights. Some reproted no change in fps but when asked you find out they are running LCD monitors with 60hz locked refresh rates with vertical syncing turned ON.
This wil lhold their FPS to refresh rate/N where N is any interger from 1 onward so that they never see more than 60 fps but in the 1.28 their fps dropped to 30 then 20 as N as their cards ability to driver fps dropped to 59 or 29. With 1.29 they typed that they had a steady 60 fps which never dropped which tells me their they are seeing a fps increrase because their fps from the card never dropped to 59 or less. |

Nice to see the big ATGs getting some movement help, those were a killer getting around any berm. Hows the new rule with the sachel charge setting delay working out in practice. Have ATGs come back into use or still the sapper ruling the outer edges of the battlefield? T. |

This is what you get for paying for 1 year worth of subscriptions, some training videos and a some tweaks. What a deal! But i give the patch notes writter guy credit for fluffing it up a bit, i bet he had no problem writting 1000 words essays about nothing. |

Well a lot of tweaks. - Changed the field of view to be based on the verticle instead of the horizontal Just noticed this. I take it this can mean a massive FOV for triple monitor users. That's going to make the flyboys happy. A lot less work on the hat button looking around. Would be cool tanking also. |

I enjoy the new patch, its a step toward Unity II, all you need to be is patient. |

Guess you could have both, triple monitor and TrackIR. Get the whole virtual cockpit going heh. T. |

This patch cannot fix the idiotic thinkings of the rats. Unity II ???? Pfffftttthhhh They were talking about that for how many years now?...and the excuse was what?
CRS had the ball in their court long ago, the niche market is dying.....time to move on guys...let it die in peace. |

The niche market isn't dying. In fact, it's increasingly the only place we can go to find games worth playing. Sorry they aren't moving fast enough for you, but those of us with a little more patience might understand that's fairly common in the niche market. |

moving fast enough? Hell I loved the game I truly did. But years ago, if you remember once the rats started dumbing down the game you could see where it was leading. Since when is it a simulation when you give the enemy a warning you are going to attack?.. It used to be strategic playstyles that won the battles where entire squads took great pride in defending the towns, now all you get is a lemming effect. But hey I never played the game right?.. patience ? is Killer brainwashing you guys even more now? |

If AO weren't in effect every newbie would quit..as they did early on because they could not find a fight. Now they can, fights are more than one squad shooting another..which sounds like 16 vs 16 on a standalone. I remember all the early ons...I like the one I am playing now. I can find a fight whenever I log on. Tabula Rasa just announced its death and ww2ol just launced a 1.29 that doubled my fps and crisped up my sounds..might be the fps increase. CRS is expanding in China, so keep predictiing its death, seems to thrive on those. The fun days of loading up a beddy and warping around to some undefended town and shooting a couple of enemies is gone. I didnt find that particualarly fun.
From what I understand about half of Unity II core was in 1.29. 1.30 may have it all. If you don't enjoy the sim dont play it. |

edit: Correction, CRS isnt making minimum wage, they're asking top dollar for their mmo and giving 1 patch a year with no significant content in return. They make Funcom look good. |

I don't think anybody ever accused you of not playing the game. If the old-style off-hour blitzkrieg style of play where a few people at 3am were able to take a dozen towns behind the lines is your idea of "strategic", well, we're just going to have to have a difference of opinion. My belief is that the game is infinitely more strategic, and definitely more complex than when it started. TO&E, resources, and brigades have made this game orders of magnitude more strategic. Don't like the attack/defence order requirements in place now? It's not ideal, but it does serve to bring the players together so that combat is possible among sizable forces. The high commands for both sides work within the framework of the game and the assets at hand to try and direct the war to its hopefully favorable conclusion. That's still strategy. Entire squads do still take great pride in defending towns. In the 101st, we do this all the time. Is Killer brainwashing us? Perhaps. But it could also be that you're a rebel without a cause here.

I know of several patches this past year, so guess how much validity I'm going to give your comments? I get it. You don't like the Rats. great. So don't play. I was playing Aces High and Air Warrior back in the $30 a month days, so this is a bargain basement price for an online game. And you know what? Sometimes games are worth paying for just to keep them running as is. What is with this constant need for development? So they can add things and then have the likes of you constantly pissing and moaning about what they've done? And how often do those WoW patches and new content come out anyway? Not. That. Often. CRS screwed up their launch like Funcom did with AO and AoC, but then gave everybody six months of free playtime. Worse than Funcom? Whatever, guy. There's been plenty added to the game over the years, despite how few employees CRS actually has. You're entitled to your opinion, but I'm dismissing it. |

Time for a recap on the worse launch in hsitory. Strategic fFirst the publisher said..you will lanunch on June 6th to commenerate D Day. Rats said it is not ready, testers said no way is it realy. It wnet Gold on the 23rd of May and the Rats made 8 to 10 udpates while they could. On the 3rd of June thier Colocation Faciltity went bankrupt and Killer had to find a new one in 72 hours. One was found and the luanch began with a years worth of work to still be done. The 10k server went up and and at 1201 logons it would crash. 2 Cisco Engineers were called in and for th enewxt week they tried to find the problem. Killer had to break the 10k server into a lot of shards that only held 1k players. They slept in the office, literally. the problme was found and it was a bad optical cable that cold not hanndle more than 1202 players and that was fixed. The damage was done. CRS let people pay for free for about 6 months while they patched and patched. That launch update was huge and the bandwidth could not handle it so that didnt go well. They got out of bankrupctcy, developed a very loyal core group of players, changed the game to retain players rreduced their group to about 12 total. They are lean, mean and understand the value of their custusmoers so that you can talk to the CEO on down if you have problem. Slowy it has become a love hate game wich some who long for the old days when in my opinion it was garbage to something that is slowly growing. They patch, update serveral times a year, this last one was a major core rewrite that took 6 months to incorporate Unity II and the China Release. I just dont see how any group of developers counld have done anything more to ensure the survival and inmprovement of a game. Niche, horrid luanch, small group and if you spend any time listening to them you realize this is an endavor of love for them, all those troulbes against its survival and yet they manage to survive, expand to China and make it a sim that people are trying and staying. I think you will find that many on the freebie from this site will stay. Some wont but it still grows. I am not quite a fanbois but I have been here since the first iteration of beta in june of 2000 and I like to think I know the mindset of CRS and they want WW2OL to be the most in depth accurate ww2 sim on the market.
Sorry about the legth. |

Amen, Hardcase. I remember this well. I've been burned by a number of MMO companies over the years, including SOE, Funcom, and of course CRS. And to date, the only company that has earned my respect back is CRS. |
