Population is good. Plenty to do and many fights going on.

I would say the pops are still good.

You still see para drops with good numbers at times and still get a good amount attacking and defending you just have to goto the right AO's

Also remember that they balanced the AO's with amount online this means if there is few online only a few AO's can be placed this keeps areas active with numbers.

Their is always alot going on in the game since most of the player base is between Europe and US.  Primetime is normally EST evening but you'll be hard pressed not to find action all day long.

Population in this game is brutal,

Ive counted no more than 20 some odd people on one side on a weeknight, On average it seems to be around 50-75 per side on a busy weekend afternoon. And this is on a huge map so it seems less. Population is not this games strong point.

Hell I see more people in a game of BF2 or on a 250 player Joint Operations server then I ever come across in this game. Funny as im writtng this im getting an urge to play in a massive war game yet I still cant get myself to log into this game and I might just fire up Joint Ops instead. And its free!! why am I paying for this crap? nevermind im not anymore.

I'm boycotting 10-pigger MMOs.

I'm an old time ww2o player myself, and was considering a return. I play Axis. I had some serious issues with population. Has this changed in the last few months or something, or is it related to the time of year?

I'm not trashing this game at all (I love it) .

The population is not "good" like all the others have stated.

It is at best ok.   It really depends on the timezone you play in.   If you play in US primetime, 1600(-5GMT) till 0200(-5GMT) then the population is often in the favor of the allied side.   As for the exact player numbers, CRS closely gaurds that number.   Guestimates by players places the player numbers in the hundreds...  possibly 1000, + or - 100 players.     Rarely do you see a battle that envlovles more than 20 or 30 people per side.    The REALLY large fights might see numbers nearing 100 people on a side at one location, but then the FPS start taking a REAL hit and this rarely lasts that long.

I am not going to blow smoke up anyones butt about this game.   I am going  to tell you the trueth.    The biggest thing is the numbers arent what they used to be.  But neither is the teamwork, or the balancing.

So much crap, so little quality.
