(Embedded with the Corps Cavalerie, Armee Franchaise. 3-06-04) The armed might of the Corps Cavalerie assembles. This force made up of masses of armored vehicles, motorized infantry and supporting guns await the order to roll out. Overhead swarms of fighters and bombers gather for the coming battle.

All these French warriors were set to unleash a shock attack upon Wehrmacht defenses at Couvin. General Dude69th Commanding Officer of the Corps designated Colonel Kitanis (AHC) as tactical commander and on Kitanis’s order the force rolled out.

Awe inspiring columns of Armor charged towards Couvin. Clouds of dust marked the progress as multitudes of French Armor pushed up to slam the Axis.

Closing Notes and Roll Of Honor: What a session, many Armee Franchaise Officers, Lone wolves and Squads pitched in to attain an impressive victory.. As usual the Armee Franchaise Command structure performed well. Coordination was seamless with Generals such as Dude69th directing the effort. Two guys really stood out as Field Commanders of the force. Kitanis and Dunlop, displayed very effective leadership executing tactical command on the battlefield for the Corps! The following members of the Le Brigade Du Chevalier Noir (BKB) were present for duty: Kitanis, Dunlop, Wjb3, Hllbringr, It, Imahero, Tobfree, Drummond, Popeye0, Aoddball, Bkbcat, Tlx, Bear123, Blueghst, Trix, Fidd, Adak, Sitnbul, Alby, Snoop, Suffolk, Hard, Jd53, LtFragg, Blindmel, Ianstein, Mondo67, CoasterX, Bonghitr, Wardog22, Jeepfrk, Ltibbs, Mac39, Slo42, Clayp!!!, Mugwump, Tiamat12, Ronday, Ftempest, Webco, Prather, Edintington, Dragonkp, Pvttom, Volkrim, Tony803 and Mingbat. I probably missed a few, please accept my apologies.

Into the defenses crashed the Allied force. Sharp and unforgiving action ensued. The Wehrmacht held bravely and the conflagration raged for hours. A pivotal moment occurred when a relief column of Axis panzers attempted to break into Couvin and relieve their brethren that were holding. French bombers were radioed, pilots such as Mac39 swooped down in their birds of prey and laid waste to the German panzers.

The battle hung in the balance and Kitanis broadcast over the radio “We can take this town! Keep pushing!” With renewed resolve to ‘battle and die’ the Armee Franchaise made a last ditch effort.

Armor kept blazing away at the Germans.

Infantry charged strong points with suicidal abandon and the town was taken! Captured Wehrmacht Soldier Bogyone said after the battle “we killed 200 tanks..and they kept coming.”

But this was not the end. Command passed to Colonel Dunlop and the force immediately rolled to the south and hit Rocroi. After a sharp battle again the Corps Cavalerie overwhelmed the enemy. Another French city stood liberated and the Wehrmacht finds itself retreating back towards the Meuse River.
