This game launched only 56 days ago and its already giving away free trials.

Red Flag

This is not a good sign.

Champions is a great game with tons of potential, but it shipped too soon. Graphics errors, server crashes, severely buggy content (currently none of the end-game quests are reasonably functional) - and every patch fixes some problems but creates more. In general I enjoyed the game, but have canceled my subscription, since it feels like I'm being charged to play a beta.

Now there's this - a free 3 days for anyone who wants to try out the event they've been hyping for  a month. Unless you've already payed them for the time, of course - no rewards for the loyal customer.

What the other repliers say is true, however, the trial will be a load of fun for those wanting to try Champions out. I wish you luck in getting out of character creater, though. ;)

Great idea and since it's not a free trial that you can use whenever you want it doesn't necesary means it's bad, on the opposite, they want to show the game to more people. The first free month is over and like any other game they lost player, that way they can show the game to the ones who didn't buy it and might do after the weekend.

Why does people always see a negative side to everything? Can people just be positive and grateful.

I don't pay for mmo's until i can try them for free. And i am sure i am not the only one.

So how is this a bad sign or bad idea?

Sure it is a good idea. However, you have to ask why give away content so early after launch?

that is where the skeptics come in.  Does anyone remember any subscriber mmo giving away free content a month after launch?

I don't think they are giving away content because they are feeling generous. If the game was meeting or exceeding sub goals, you wouldn't be getting this offer

This isn't free content, this is a free trial. And yes, I do know of other games who have done this and I have no need to prove it. Your truth is in your own perspective, regardless of how others think.

 A few days trial eh...

While I appreciate the offer, I will wait for the 14 day trial to actually get the "feel" of the game. At least Fallen Earth was kind enough to do that, and they haven't lowered the price of their game yet unlike Champions.

Its only for 3 days.   The game is very cool.  Not the easiest click button mmo to play so not for everyone.   They probably want to give people an opportunity to see how different it is.   Its very challenging and requires some thought process when building characters.   You can literally spend a whold day in the powerhouse trying all the different powers out and how they interact with each other when your high level and redo from scratch.   Its a killer action game.   No problem with populations either.   Check out some of the utube action before you waste the download first cause it might be to crazy for some.
