Basically is there any PvP here? and if there is PvP, is there a lot of it? and Is it instaned PvP or is it open PvP?

There's arenas (instanced) you can sign up for, from any level.  UTC: You are in a team, first team gets 15 kills wins. B.A.S.H.:There's no team, the player gets the most kills win.

Other than utc and bash, to pvp with someone you have to send a request. 

As for is there lot of it, I noticed the pvp population is dying, arenas are to the point of dead right now.

There's always pvp at Renaissance Center, which you can join at any level but is only 1v1 no grouping.
