Ah, that's good. I've been thinking of trying it out again to see how things have changed, but have been indecisive on if I wanted to pay for the experience. I guess that's the problem with P2P games - even if you've already bought it, you have to pay again to see if you still like it.

I recently took a break from Champions to try out Going Rogue... don't want to pay for too many MMOs at once but I had played since launch until that point. It is a fun game and they have added a good amount of content. Go try the free time and see if you like it.

mechanically, I like the combat in CO better than COH but both are good.

For those coming back to check it out; find a good group and head over and do the Serpent  Lantern. Do it on hard or elite to add some challenge and fun. It's a blast the first time through.

You can find the quest starter on the pad the plane is on in Mill. City then you go over to UNTIL which is south of Champs HQ. Easy to find and some good drops if you do it on hard/elite.

Think it starts as early as level 15 all the way up to level 40. It scales to your level. Just find a few people your level and it will scale to the group. If you don't find anyone doing SL just say in zone chat "lvl x looking for a few more for SL" you'll get a few replys.

Other really big change is they revamp all melee. Most people seem to like it, some now say melee is OP'd.

As said in my previous post, I've been considering coming back but didn't want to pay to see if I actually wanted to. So the free week has been great for that, I've made a load of characters, most get deleted after a while if I don't like the powerset or it just doesn't work as an idea, but I've got about 4 left. I haven't even reached Millennium City yet and already found a few new pieces of content that wasn't there before. Like in Canada theres the cave full of diseased wolves - that's hard! - and that area where you activate a bunch of sigils and go into a cave with a mystic wolf.

So, nice to see some new stuff being added. The game is nice to play and currently is exactly what I'm looking for. A relaxed sort of game where I can just throw a few hours in without feeling committed to it, have a bit of fun, so I think I'll be paying for another month to see how long the game can keep me interested.

I did the same but got 2 characters into the MC levels.

I was still going back and forth on if I should sub or not but I noticed they have 3 months for $30 = $9/month and that pushed me over.

Well, sadly, I didn't make it through the first month. I've uninstalled with another week or so left on the account. As is usual for modern MMO's, the quest chains made me lose interest. The thing is, they have this great character creator with lots of power options, but every time you make a new character you have to tread the exact same path that the last character did.. and the character before that.. and the character before that. It just gets tedious.

It's a shame because I can see the game could have been so good, if they had decided to actually innovate instead of doing a cut & paste of every other themepark MMO around. But hey, that's Cryptic for you, it's why they can knock out games so quickly. Most of it really is just cut & paste.
