Maybe they are updating their environment?

It is tied into their login server and everyone in beta is trying to login to the game for the test today at the same time... this is stressing their servers and causing the entire service to go down apparently.

yea is a real pain since hour and half ago it was supposed to be open for closed beta

they added 10k or so ppl a week ago and they didnt expect there to be more difficulty with the login server? Assuming all of us that are in CB tried to log in at around the same time and it crashed them hard.

That's actually what I think happened.  Too much traffic at once.

 I still can't get in it's getting annoying. They're nearly at launch point and yet every beta day we can expect some serious dowtime becuase their servers can't handle the load.

What happens when the game goes live I wonder.

Well, they are still in CB.  Hopefully this will get straightened out before OB.  Of course, that is....next week?

Open beta starts this coming Monday and the launch date is September 1st, so yeah it is a bit worrisome That they are having trouble with this many people trying to log in at the same time...

On the other hand, they might just be updating the site to answer all the questions they've been ducking up to now...

So... will there be another weekend-long preview this weekend?  Or are they keeping it offline in preparation for OB :(

From the looks of it, they are going to NEED to keep them down on the weekend to prepare for OB.  If they can't handle around 10k people logging in at the same time, how will they possibly be able to handle the amount of people that are going to log in on Monday?

I know I am not entiltled to beta access, but I must say I am a little angry that most of the time they are giving us to test, the server is down.

Said on the front page that the site would be down for maintenance today so it's expected I suppose. Forums are up at least.

Yeah they were supposed to be down for maint last night from midnight to 2am, but they were up, i was on the forums and bouncing around for a while til well past 3am. My guess is they posted the wrong time, or there was some delay in updating whatever they were doing. Unforunate, but i dont see it being indicative of any kind of launch problem.

And if it is a problem with their login servers due to too much traffic, great! better now than in 3 weeks, yes? Gives em plenty of time to fix it.

The main site and forums are up The launcher is currently not responding for me.

Edit 4:00PM, Now it's up and patching 403 MB. One change is the Z key is now the interact key and the F key is to follow.

F for follow? Eh, guess it'll be easier for wives to play.

It goes up and down frequently.  No doubt they are doing lots of updates with the upcoming open beta and launch.
