There is no pricetag on it.  I spent 60+ Months on CoH/V that might save me a lot of money.  I probable would go as high as $199.99.  =)  For a good game of course.

if you log into the website (assuming you have an account) there is a link to the pre-order bonus there.  Life time Sub is $199.99 which is about £118 in real money and the 6 month subscription is $60 which again is £34 in real money.

seems rather reasonable tbh, im going to go with the 6 month option.

Waiting For:TOR/GW2

past: EQ, EQ2, Planetside, SWG, Matrix Online, Ultima Online, WoW, CoH/CoV, Tabula Rasa, Pirates of the Burning sea, AoC, Eve Online, Startrek Online.Fallen Earth, Champions Online, many others as well!

Anyone know if that is a one-time only offer?

In otherwords, if you play on the pre-order you can decide to go for either option or you have to select BEFORE playing.

Cryptic has been notorious for more than 10 years for shutting down games at the last minute.

No way I would pay that much for a lifetime that might be 6 months and close.  8 months and close.

Plus this has RMT right from the start, which is the main reason I will not be pre-ordering.

What games has Cryptic notoriously shut down? As far as I know they only developt CoX and then sold the rights to their publisher.   Since CoX is still running, as far as I know they haven't shut any game down.  And since Atari bought them out they will essentially be self publishing this.  So, I'm not entirely sure what you are referring to.

Edit:  Unless you are referring to NCSoft (Cryptics CoX publisher)  as being notorious for sshutting down games?

They are? What games did they shutdown? Just curious really since I thought they only had City of Heroes/Villains that later they sold to NCSoft.

I guess you do not need to buy a pre order?

Simple question that everyone else has repeatedly asked you... What other games has Cryptic shutdown. If they're "notorious" for it, surely you can name 3? 2? 1?

Personally I would probably go for the 6 month offer, but I know my better half might actually go for the Lifetime subscription. I don't know yet.

At least we do have 30 days of gameplay to make up our minds, regarding which subscription to choose or even if we'll continue to subscribe to the game.

I think you are thinking of a different company unless you know of a game besides the Marvel MMOG that Cryptic quit working on? Even in that case Microsoft was the one who backed out of the deal.

There is also the little fact that Cryptic has not even been around for 10 years since a quick Wiki look shows that they were founded in 2000 and that the first game they started working on was CoH in 2002.

got a lifetime sub to Lotro (same price as this one) and it was by far the best decision i ever made.  Having an MMO sitting there always ready for you to come back to is an awesome feeling and having 2 (in different genres) i am sure will be even better.  Hopefully they allow us to purchase this later on (i am sure they will) once we have seen the good/bad of the game.

MMO wish list:

-Changeable worlds
-Solid non level based game
-Sharks with lasers attached to their heads

I agree, he's probably thinking about NCSoft, since they did shutdown Auto Assault and Tabula Rasa.

I'd be interested in a lifer. I miss the boat on LoTRO with this deal and I'd rather get it out of the way than steadily getting pecked with a monthly AND a cash shop. Besides it's 1 of 2 games they will have under their belt. pretty much securing at LEAST a year of the game's servers staying open...
