It's not the worst game I've played, but gets very "samey" after a few levels. Mind you, what game doesn't these days! It's certainly better than one of its rivals, City of Heroes, which I tried the other day and almost injured myself when my head collided with my keyboard as my brain just couldn't take the boredom any more. What a tedious game THAT is. I don't sub to CO any more, but I still drop in to while away an odd 20 minutes or so. |

Yeah I played it for a while back when it was P2P and it was great for about the first 15 or so levels. After that it became mind numbingly repetitious. Also when it went F2P I figured I'd give it another go so I logged in just to find out every one of my characters had been flagged as 'Gold' status even though not one of them strayed from their original archetypes in powers. I uninstalled after that and never looked back.

I had enough fun in beta to buy it but it gets repetitive fast, I think I made it to about level 18 before I just gave up. Had the same problem with COH, just can't stand the grind in these games especially considering there is very little else to do. |

Originally posted by raiko22 Welcome, Champions Online is one of the games I keep in my stable, pretty good IMO and the amount of updates (200-300MB each) should make some big name studios cry. I'm taking a shot of vodka every time I see a reference to a game being a WoW or Diablo clone. |

I really enjoyed my stay in CO. What really helped me get into the game was get into a pretty health supergroup/guild and just befriend the in game community. It was small enough before the F2P move where I could recognize the majority of the players online. I'm glad you're enjoying it, I may have to resub one day and run around my 50 again! |
