Basically i have a simple question.  To those who have played earth rise and possibly runescape, would the game be for me if i was an avid runescaper in the past? Ive played the game since 2004 logging in well over a year's worth of hours so its clear that skilling and non-directional games are my thing.

I'm currently playing the RIFT open beta and its smooth but it's just another game that you don't even need to read to progress.

Thanks everyone

Sure, you owuld probably like it but i would wait.

If you play now it may only sour your experience.

I mean besides all the bugs, you only do three things. Grind Mobs for BP, grind crafting, and grind quests for money(very slow money gain btw.)

The quests are all kill x mob, or kill x mob and bring back his item.

PvP right now serves no purpose, unless you like ganking people.

I dont see them getting factional warfare in when they said it was. So yeah.. wait on that.

alright that seems to be the general consensus from reading around.  However is the grind worse than runescape? I don't know if you've ever dabbled in it but they've state that with free version skills alone it takes 10,000 hours to complete everything.

Tomorrow they are increasing the rewards to make money. If you enjoy crafting I think youw ould enjoy ER, if you like PVP, I think you would.

Now there is lag issue and exploits going around, if you can deal with that until there fixed then I say get it, it sucks for the time being but hey what are you gonna do , I love the game spite all of the issues, there is so much to the game in that I alreayd love and I play beta for 6 months so I knew already.

Read the second first impression of the game. It was posted  today. All these people talk about having faith in Masterhead. I was in beta and there was not one patch that impressed me enough to have faith that they can implement things quickly and properly. People let the fact they communicated with us regularly cloud their judgement. Sure they answered easy questions but when time came to discuss the performance issues and the patch that was supposed to fix it came they went silent. The 3rd largest thread on the beta forum and they complely stayed away from it and answered other threads.

My suggestion for you is to wait until end of March, no need to buy the game now, the 2 free months offer is over. In a month or two the issues like lag and framerate are expected to improve.

Lets face it, MMOs today are turning into single player console games with a chat box included.
