I think there is an incredible game in there somewhere, with massive potential.
However, I think it will take time for this to emerge and I have real concerns that Masthead may have shot themselves in the foot with an elephant gun as a result of their early, rough-and-unready release.
Look at Funcom; people on these forums still bleat on about their poor quality Go Lives til this day, some even going on to claim it's part of their business model (which even a first-year Business student would agree is an utterly retarded suggestion). People aren't very forgiving and when you stand this game up next to RIFT and Xsyon - which release very shortly - it looks really pants.
If they can get this game to realise it's potential, I'll sub til I'm too old to play MMOs and still maintain a degree of credibility IRL. If they don't, it'll be a real shame.
I'm hoping the release generated some cash for them, or whatever they need to help them wipe the turd of this diamond.

This game is not an FPS though. It's just a mess. There is one hitbox. No headshots. Just a mess of dudes running around with 500 latency jamming on space bar while they aim for the one hitbox. No skil invovled in that. They really should have made a jumping cost stamina. |

I really like this game, but I am a sandbox mmo junky. I would however recommend not trying the game for about a month, until it is more playable. Too many tech issues right now. |

Originally posted by Gintoh My honest opinion, yes. I have been in the Rift beta, I've been hooked on Cataclysm, played Everquest II, had some fun in DC Universe Online, etc. but I can't even think about logging into any other mmo right now simply because none other can offer what Earthrise offers. Even with the atrocious launch and many technical issues, this is the game for me. I can only hope that it gets better (and it has been). |

Could've asked the same question of mo on release and probably still can:) Might be better to come back in a year and ask : Is it worth playing? |
