I will admit that i have a negative bias now against MHS but progress of this game leads me to believe that this game wont be supported long, judging by previuos experience with MMORPGs that were way better than this and still failed (APB)
My prediction that this project will last another 2-3 months untill they starve for income, and they will starve because in 3 months not many people will be back to this game. What do you think? |

Well the thing with sandbox FFA PvP games is that they usually have a small but fanatic fanbase. Just look at Mortal Online, it is an absolutely horrible game, yet it has survived for what, a year now? I predict Earthrise will be the same, but I am not doing the same misstake as I did with MO. Fool me once... Problem is that this gives sandbox games a bad rep. Publishers think they are tiny because of the sandbox feature where in fact it is the extremely low quality of the game in areas such as bugs, performance, UI, visuals etc. |

APB or Earthrise are different breeds. Earthrise has a chance if they peojected for slow growth, like EVE. if they expect fast growth, they will fail. edit: typo |

I wonder how big is MO's team. MHS' team is quiet large and if they are planning to have a slow progress, then they will have to somehow deal with no income for another 3 mothns. The 50$/Euros only paid for initial release, i would believe that noy much was left for development, they also offered 2 months free. So by the time those months are up they will need an influx of new customers paying monthly fees, which i dont see happening, because many of those who have bought it on day one have or will quit, and not so many new players are eager to try this. This leaves them with hardcore fanatics (yea, not fans), who will barely cover some of development costs. |

It's about time a big company started a project on a high budget sandbox mmo, similiar to swtor (doesn't even need to be as near as 150mill dollars), but not so much. Future: WoD, SWTOR, Arche Age, Tera (maybe), GW2. |

Honestly, if they don't fix some of the major issues like horrible latency and atrocius performance on many people's computer, I do not see this game lasting longer than a year. There is a large percentage of people, including myself, who would play this game, but cannot due to constant stuttering/hitching and near zero FPS at times. This is my opinion of course. Also, I really don't have much faith in Masthead as a company, the way they do things over there just seem amatuerish to me. Good luck to them and the players that play the game though, I don't like seeing MMO's fail (unless it's made by SOE). |

lol i am sick of seeing every second MMORPG user being a PROPHET. "this game will survive for a year" "this game wont survive" Look at darkfall you all said "this game is darkfail its done, it will close in couple of weeks" cough cough i see it gaining popularity like crazy, same thing was with eve, and Mo and tons of other games. nothing will die, only POP games like APB will die. and APB died cause GTA 4 has way better online then that game |

I dont know how long it will survive, but I'm pretty sure that it will loose many of the people who actually bought it. Because most of them are very disappointed. Just watch the rating dropping. I dont think I will go on playing this game, I sometimes just log in because I think that I neeed to have fun because I spend 50€ for it. But I already exit after 2 minutes. And I dont think I will come back to the game for a long time. I think it will be a hard time to get all the people back that they shocked with their game. And I'm pretty angry, because I'm just a "normal" player, I havent read all the reviews or informed about the company or something else. I just read the homepage and the "feature-list", and didnt expected that its all not in the game. But ok, I just think there are maaaany people as angry as me and will leave this game when the free time is over, so it might survive with a smaller fangroup of players. But not sure this will be enough to get all the patches and content paid that is missing. |

To be honest from reading the official forums things are getting worse day by day, devs just dont want to admit it, for example at launch char selection on the client was working fine, now with such huge lag on the servers you have to whait 5 minutes or more for your char to show, since there havent been any patches this just plain means either the database or the server holding the char data is lagging to high heaven, combine the worsening lag, with the duping issues that have croped up, multitude of players still not even able to log into their accounts things are looking dismal, if they dont come up with a insanely miracle patch by the end of the month, i think their done, way too many frustrated players to recover, im sure its hard to fix coding bugs, i myself hate coding, but you got to wonder what 70 devs do all day in 8 hours o.0, you can only do so many reboots. |

To be honest i think they already knew things would go down like this, they are making all the money they can before the game goes into a total fiasco and it will either go F2P or wait for a few months until it eventually dies. |

Funny thing is even if they sell 500 boxes im sure it doesnt even cover 10 peoples salaries, were talking like 24k that wont even pay their staff for a month. |

Originally posted by Gintoh Where do you find info on this game? From the company website I don't see what makes this game a sandbox? Is there a better info source out there? Ugh.. it would have to be one hell of a sandbox game for me to play with elves, especially a Korean game. |
