Disclaimer: The following is my opinion!

Everyone sees "full loot!" and "full pvp!" and they think "omg, that game's gunna be anarchy!!! Who could possibly progress in a game like that?? and they run away from the game without even giving it a decent look. What they don't realize is that this game has carefully balanced mechanics planned to help counter the full looting and full pvp. Everything in this game will be truly revolutionary, we're seeing the rise of a whole new generation of MMOs coming into play here. The planned crafting system in this game is the best I've ever seen, the pvp in this game is actually going to be exhilerating, everything about this game just screams that it deserves more attention than it's getting. I'm sure you've all heard of Tabula Rasa and Entropia Universe... this game will be the next step forward.

You speak as though you've played this game for some time. Is this true?

He probaly hasn't played the game.

BUT..

It is Horizonz, the all-knowing-forum-guy from the Earthrise forum. He probaly  knows alot of the game.. more then every other noob who is yelling Anarchy Online.

Although I agree with him about everyone judging the game before they played it, I can say the same about him.

No offense Horizonz but be more careful with your wording.   You are talking as if you have played this game before and know everything.  People might think unlikely of you and just ignore you.  The game is not getting the proper attention it needs for many reasons.  Some believe it will come out on the dates it said.  Let alone it does not even have a gameplay video.  Also masthead is keeping a lot of stuff hidden. 

I strongly believe once the actual beta date gets announce.  I am sure there will be a crowd of people that will pay attention.

Yes I agree on you there are a few people that only see full loot or full pvp.  But that is just because a lot of people have not really read about it.  But you have done an excellent job on gathering all the information and putting it in one place. 

You were all right, I haven't played the game, it's still in development. I just got ahead of myself because I'm a little frustrated at how uninterested a lot of people seam to be in Earthrise just because they see the whole Full PVP/Full Looting deal. Sorry if people misunderstood.

I've ready pretty much every press release and post in their forums, even contacted Masthead (the game dev firm) for some info that people didn't know. I'm simply trying to explain that as long as Masthead is able to deliver on everything, and they certainly seam to think they can, this game will be unimaginably good. I have faith in Masthead, and I believe they can do it. If you look at some of the most successful MMOs out there, EVE and Anarchy Online for example, they started with small indy dev teams trying to do something new, and that's what I see in Masthead right now.

Yeah, fixed my wording a bit. Masthead certainly thinks they can make the dates because they were asked in a recent house of commons if there were any plans to push back the beta/release, and they said no and that they were on schedule. I also wish they'd release a video, because like you mentioned, a lot of people don't think it'll come out until they see a video.

I hope you're right about the beta date being released, I'd hate to see the game die because it just didn't have enough press. Thanks for the compliment with the info, but that isn't anywhere near all of it! Just some of the more commonly asked stuff. :)

I don't know where I read this, but Beta is causing alot of delay. Bug fixing takes alot of time. I mean, I can model + skin and animate 1 character a day. And I am a total noob in it. But to have it working ingame is something totaly different.

So I am pretty sure they won't make 2009. Which isn't bad ofcourse. It is boring the waiting, but good games are better then fast games.

i never played entropia universe, but from what i read on it, im pretty sure this game is different from earthrise, unless you mean the next step forward based on the economy (real-life money exchange) of entropia

Although I'm extremely interested in the game, I'm not getting excited as it's so far from release and things always change...

Good job on the info though...

It sounds/looks pretty interesting but I am too busy to really follow the game, also i get the feeling it will never launch but I could obviously be wrong.

You didn't read it anywhere because MastHead has never stated that the beta is being delayed.  And you honestly think the Q1 2009 release date won't be made but you go so far as to say the game will be delayed an entire year?

I am sorry for this misunderstanding.

I was saying that the Beta causes games to delay. They find troubles that the QA / dev team didnt see.

And delaying a whole year? I know I don't have the slightes proof, but it happens to most MMO's. Why not to ER? It's only just 3 years in development.

I'm very interested in Earthrise. But with the way mmos go, who knows if it will ever even see the light of day. The game could take 10 years to develop then suddenly get canceled at the last second. Or just be another huge disappointment.

Since i haven't even seen them advertise beta sign-ups and hasn't even entered the 1st closed beta stage as far as i know, i will just keep my eyes open for news and not pay attention to it much until there is actually something to judge.

Too many games go overboard with the hype (not saying ER is doing so) and then turn out to be garbage, so i make it a habit to not get too involved with any mmo until i have the opportunity to see it for myself. I would guess alot of people feel the same way.

To be honest, i haven't read anything about ER yet. The screenshots i have seen on mmo websites look pretty amazing, but you never know til you see it with your own eyes.
