Players find themselves immersed is a continuing power struggle between the leaders behind the Continoma Project, called the Continoma, and the Noir, an armed resistance group formed by a former Continoma leader. Their continuous struggle has weakened them considerably and even as they remain the two most powerful forces on Enterra, they depend much on the other smaller organizations for their survival and victory on the island.

Looks good, can't wait to try this one out.
I like the overall look of them. I would love to see an up-to-date combat vid though.
wow. i'm not too familiar with this game. have to add it tot he radar
The lighting is nice but the textures look a little subpar to be a next generation mmo.
You have to wonder about this game, how long before their money runs out? It seems the release date keeps getting pushed back.
So far most of the sand box games have failed to deliver. Hope this one makes it out the door and does.
this will be sandbox!
An up to date combat video could make or break the hype machine for this game.
Obviously another WOW clone.
Please, no.. no... just kidding... put down that weapon.... arrrgghhhhhhh
*chuckle*
Which is exactly why I want to see one. It'll help me figure out whether I want to play the game or not. I used to fall for all the hype. After the major letdowns of AoC, Aion and Mortal Online, I'm very wary now.
This one scares me, something just doesnt feel right about the way they have handled 2010 and the marketing of the game.
I think a lot of the Earthrise veterans and community members are worried about how they are handling the release of information and marketing for the game. Hopefully that will improve as they has seem to been an increase of screenshots and possibly leading up to a gameplay video release?
I guess they want simply to prevent the fiasko they had with releasing first footage video, which killed really a lot of hype. I may be wrong, but who knows ;-)
why does this feels like a dejavu?
MHS have been releasing Screenshots for the past 2 years,
they think by doing this, they can show to the community that they are still working on it, i get it
but it's not gonna work for us, sorry MHS, either something solid, or prepare to lose out a lot of subs
I have been following Earthrise for a long time now and I, like some others, am starting to have a bad feeling about this one. The sheer lack of any new information excluding screenshots is rather worrying. I really hope that we get thrown a bone soon as this is almost my last hope for a decent avatar-based sandbox MMO.
It seems like there are a lot of good-looking themepark MMO's on the way and that is great as I love themepark games too, but Earthrise really does tick all my boxes for a great sandbox experience. I just pray that Masthead can pull it off.
The 2 props in pic 1 look odd and out of place. If those props actually opened up then would be cool ,otherwise they look out of place in a barren open land shot.
Pic2 the player model seems to have drab looking textures and pic3 looks bad like something out of Anarchy Online, again it is the weak textures that make it look thta way.
Better they take forever with little information than hurry along with tons of info. Mortal Online, anyone?
If it sucks, it will suck no matter if they release a lot of info or a little. Mortal Online anyone? This way they get valuable feedback from the people they are expecting to pay for it.
How do you lose subs when you don't have any to begin with?
Good...subpar textures means it can run on any pc, means also it can run without getting down to 5fps even with more then 30 people onscreen, means it will be able to have a big world seamless with very few loading screens needed to load all the textures...
So subpar textures=win
Maybe if people like you upgraded, the rest of us wouldnt have to suffer crappy graphics. Go get a console.
What's with the flat terrain and its textures?
One of the screenshots reminds of SWG and its horrid visuals.
Looks good! Hope that it is not another fail indie game!
LIke numerous other MMOs, I'd give it a try if it came out tomorrow, but who the hell knows when it'll actually hit the shelves.
@TwwIX, yeah think both this game and SWG are going for the same sort of cartoonish stylized look, which I agree, is rather horrid. I always wonder if its really what they want, or if its more of a cop-out, because its easier...
This game will be AWESOME, mark my words! :)
INteresting screenies, i like the last one. To everyone complaining about graphic engine: dont expect anything bettter than what you see, the game engine is pretty much dated, but hopefully gameplay will compensate for it. Still have good hopes for this game.
Seriously... people need to calm down. If someone refuses to play a game because of delays or lack of info during development thats just sad. Now when its in OBT and near release and we can't get decent info, then you can cry foul.
Personally though, I feel all serious indie MMO sandbox titles should offer free trials. They can't rely on millions in ads to pump up initial box sales and typically people are more wary of them to begin with. MO actually had the right idea with opening beta to everyone, Perpetuum seems to be sneding beta keys to anyone interested. If the games in working condition and fun, having an open beta will result in good word of mouth and essentially free advertising. If not, then you get a lot of cancelled pre-orders. Eitherway, let your product speak for itself.
no info in OB? duuurr ...
