Screenshots are worthless because they give relatively no insight into the game. These actually are worse than normal. I just don't see the value in screen-shot previews.

 They give you something to drool over if you're graphically minded. 

I'll accept the label of "non-graphically minded" willingly. Did these screen-shots make you drool?

If you think these are non-graphical than you must be blind. They are better than the other mmo sandboxes that have been released lately.  Yes, they might have not give insight in the actual gameplay or interface but they are showing you the game world. What it is going to be like with out the needed CG movies/screen shots. Ohhh... Yeah, you will be able to craft those type of gear in-game also. 

These are however very interesting as they do give the eastern garden guards/npcs the feel of a samurai. Their plate armor is very interesting.

If you want more insight into the game, go and read the official forums or apply for beta. Also, if you don't like screenshot previews, just don't watch them.

I found the screenshots to have far more value than your posting.  I'm just saying...

U see the logos on the knees and shoulders of that guard's armor? I think it will be possible for the player to add custom logos to their armors too.

He, or I, never stated that they weren't graphical. Just that for the people who couldn't care less about graphics it offers almost no insight into the game. I don't care if I can possibly add a custom made logo onto my clothes, or that the game looks amazing, which it does, I care more about game play mechanics and the type of things that will bring me back to the game, which in no way is graphics.

And no they didn't make me drool.

Then go to the Earthrise forums and learn about the game's mechanics. No one is forcing you to view the screenshots.

I thought the armor was pretty ugly, like either those guards are obese or they have some really puffy suits of armor, oh and the boots look pretty bad to me too.

That armor is supposed to protect you from blades, bullets, death rays, lightning, explosions, concussive force, and gnashing mutant teeth, claws, etc. It's not going to be some skimpy silk dress. Think of the guards not as obese, but wearing layer upon layer of thick kevlar-type material. I like the armor, it has a very steampunk/post-Apocalyptic vibe to it... which it's supposed to have.

Edit: Think of Space Marines except, instead of metal, this armor is made of heavy fabric.

I still think they are just morbidly obese wearing pantyhose thick fabric with some metal plates pinned to the outside.

This is the heavy armor in the game. It seems like you prefer light armor, which is pretty cool too. Check this screenshot:

yea, but u know, the guys from Masthead are aiming for credibility and silky 2mm thick dress doesn't quite gonna stop an armor piercing bullet or a 5 feet long blade, no matter how cool it looks on ur female char. And when ur facing shrapnel and explosions and all kind of slicing weapons the last ting u care about is how fat u look in ur armor, as long as it gives u as much protection as possible ;)

And for the non-graphically minded - yea, a game is not just all looks, but in 2009 u cant just ignore the graphics, otherwise we were still be playing Zelda on Gameboys.

Look. I'm playing a game I really like. Before it was released the developer was putting out screen-shots daily that just looked horrible. Thankfully it wasn't enough to deter me from trying the game.

I don't think the screen-shots here are helping hype this game. I'd say they are hurting my opinion of this game.

I could see not being excited about screenshots, but saying they're hurting your opinion even though they look good? That's just ridiculous. If you don't like screenshots go look up more info on the game at the official forums.
