Mabinogi News - "Dragon" Update Live! Adds Flying Brooms

Posted by Michael Bitton on Oct 16, 2009  | 0 comments in our forums

The "Dragon" update to Mabinogi is now live! As one would expect, the "Dragon" update adds dragons to the game, several varieties in fact, and players will be put to the task to combat them using newly introduced hot-air balloons with mounted machine guns.

Players will also be able to try their luck at archeology in "Dragon" with the introduction of the fossil restoration feature. Players can mine for fossils and attempt to restore them, with successful attempts earning you handsome rewards!

Weapons have also been augmented in "Dragon," with two handed weapons getting an overhaul to make them more useful, as well as the introduction of a gemstone system to allow players to get the most out of their weapons.

The Alby, Ciar, and Rundal dungeons have been updated with a new Hardmode setting as well. The new setting will naturally make the dungeons quite a bit more difficult, as one would guess, but will also reward players with much greater rewards.

And finally, "Dragon" brings new flying broom mounts to the game, but with a twist. The flying broom mounts can function on both land and air, with the air version being faster than a Pelican but slightly slower than an Eagle, and the land version being faster than a Shire and slightly slower than a Thoroughbred. The brooms also can be used on land to help uncover treasure.

Nexon has also sent along a short trailer of the new Flying Brooms, which you can watch here!

We've also updated our Mabinogi gallery with around 50 new screenshots! Check them out!
