I'm going to tryout Zero in the near future when I'm bored... But, if you are a die hard mech fan from what I've been told about Zero is that the community is pretty solid. Where as AoA is losing people constantly due to lack of content and high prices in the item mall. Is Zero really that bad though? What kind of flaws does it have? Just graphics problems, or are there difficulties with controls and other concepts to the game?

zero atm is pretty "young" still. so u can expect some problem with it.

biggest issue for me is lag..which not only cause by internet speed but also my own PC..got 512MB RAM on P4 2.66GHz didnt help me much..but, if u have 1 GB RAM, no problem for u i guess..also with 128-bit AGP gfx will do..

as for flaws in game, there are bugs here and there but certainly didnt stop ppl from getting high lvl, so its minor..i must state here that ppl are the biggest flaws ingame. ppl do anything to be the strongest..hax etc. but i've seen a few bunch of ppl getting permanent ban for doing so..i guess GM do his job well..

the controls are simple..same as other games from TQ like CO.

if u are trying the game, i'd like to say welcome to u and good luck!

Hello everyone..!!

Went the other day and started up a character. The lag in the main area isnt that bad can be a little sluggish. The lag in the actual game seems very minimal or non-existent unless maybe I'm lucky. Getting into a fleet seems rather easy and the amount of help a fleet can give in terms of information on the one I joined opened up a few other doors to things like space missions and getting other more detailed info that the website lacked... The main downside I encountered was the mentor system. All seemed well first day I was leveling guy was one. Day two doesn't appear, day three doesn't appear. Have to wait 3 days and pay 500k to get rid of him, but by then I'll probably be a moderate level to not care about having a mentor. Aside, from the mentor business the one thing that did bother me was when you encounter a rather large enemy you seem to instantly lock onto him and attack him even if you don't want to attack him. Also, retreating from a large scale enemy can be difficult unless you click on specific areas. Not sure if anyone else has this problem, or how to avoid it but isn't that much of a problem at this time. As for now lvl 84 will pop up to 100 tonight or tomorrow depending on time frame so I'll throw some more information on the game as I play through it. Just wish my mentor wasn't such a deadbeat...hahaha

cgrazt to u on lvl 84 already in a short time..yeah Zero is a simple, fast lvling from lvl 1 till 100. i can do it in less then 18 hours long ago without a mentor..

let me warn u about pk system here tho..as at lvl 100+, u can be pked(killed by someone/player) and u can pk(player-kill) ppl urself. i've seen many ppl quiting the game bc they somehow can't survive the challenge here. i put my writing here about how to avoid pking for low lvl(as lvl100 till 145 is the prime target for pker). there are issues about pk system and everyone is still hoping for a better one from game developer.

all i can say is, u are facing a difficult time ahead of u when u turn lvl 100 and making ur way to lvl 145. but there are fun part too..after 100, u'll get another mech to control(ARM system). i suggest u to lvl the new Heat-Resistant mech u got till past lvl 60 that will enable u to join BlowTheManDown spacemission. u can join the mission with ur Heat Resist ARM and finish the mission with ur lvl100+ Medium ARM. just as another alternative for lvling. also, if u being pked too much on the normal map, u can go to alternative map by speaking to npc at the map's entrance portal.

lastly i want to say is, if u like action, then u'll enjoy the game after lvl 100..if u not, well just push a few more lvl and u are safe..bc when u reach 145, the fun begin..

so, good luck.

edit: a good mentor in everyone's perspective would be someone high in POT and always online..there are a few out there which didnt even logout lol..but u have to know ppl like that first..join fleet and have some friends in game will help. i dont have a good mentor myself and not a good mentor since im not online much.

err.sorry for long post this is..my last post of the day.

again, good luck

Given the fact that I'm new think I'll avoid fighting altogether for now and work on getting an edge. I reviewed your previous topic, but a few things I need to ask you. When you die will you lose experience?  When you die to a player without any sort of fighting back do they get pk points, or are there maps where no penalty applies? If your fleet is an enemy of another fleet and they kill you do they still get penalized? As for the arm system sounds rather interesting. Game just went flatline for me when I was about to get 90 haha. Was wondering why no one bothered trying to pk me when I went nuts in xp mode. Well now I know they cant bean me til I get to 100. As for pking and being pking thats not something that will ever drive me out of a game unless the game is boring to begin with then thats a different story. I'd rather throw myself at a person make them red or black name and let their gear get divided up among other people.

When you die will you lose experience?

-when u die, u'll lose some exp. but only for the last ARM that die. Also, u might lose random item inside the last ARM's inventory when u die. so, first lesson is not to store any good item inside ur ARM's inventory..u'll know when u reach 100 and got ur fisrt ARM

When you die to a player without any sort of fighting back do they get pk points, or are there maps where no penalty applies?
when someone pk u, he/she will get pk point for every ARM killed. no worry there..i donno much about how many pkp u got per kill but ppl say that killing a few ppl will result in red-name. so far, there are no pk arena or some sort, but will be..only place pkp dont add is in jail atm. Zero is openly pk game where u can pk anyone anywhere..up to the player. only place u cant pk is within market blue fence on SteelWarhip. and of course near any standing guard..lol

If your fleet is an enemy of another fleet and they kill you do they still get penalized?

more detail is here actually..http://zo.91.com/guide/features/pk.shtml
sorry i cant just copy and paste it here..donno the copyright status..

so, as u can see..zero is like a real life situation where u decide anything u want to do..like most mmorpg out there..so for pvp in zero is like that.

oh one more thing, at lvl 100 till 130 on ur fisrt ARM or should i say POT below 500, u simply cant resist pk attemp what so ever..lol just RUN away till u are stronger..its fun to RUN beleive me..lol

Your tactic of run is way over rated.... Someone pked me.I came back...They pked me again. Repeated this process since I wasn't dropping anything of value. Guy goes purple and runs away. Second person same thing happens only they get red. I start attacking them, they don't fight back and start running. Long story short I end up killing them grabbing a few items and running lol... Potency doesn't seem to matter as much as persistence. I can see why people would quit the game for being player killed. They die once get riled up. It happens maybe a few more times by the same or different people and they quit out of anger or not putting their rares in the main arm they were using at the time. I'm still a little confused my mentor logged yesterday, but I stayed online still had his potency up until server was rebooted. Started recruiting students as well... Can see that people become deadbeat mentors for the free experience. They really should implement some sort of system where if your mentor Isn't on for x amount of hours that you can leave for no penalty or a reduced penalty and a waiting period. Almost into the 130's so going to toy with the cap system soon. Have a feeling its like Eudemon's pet  system to some degree.

i'm glad to hear that u comes to lvl130 already..nice job!

it is true about what u said and the tactic u use..i do that too when i was 100+, and with a perfect guardian core i got that time(-2000dmg) even pker run away from me. but to tell that to a newbie is never easy..that why i say RUN so many time as that is the simplest solution to their problem. lvling to lvl130 is not hard with a good mentor. and u know that already as u are newbie no more..congratulation!

once u reach 130, u have more alternative to lvl urself. one is go to Green Planet(pay 50k to enter), go to dungeon A/B which is for free..if u like abit of action since u can die alot in there. also u can start doing spacemission to get those rank exp from time to time and exp gain is good too. or u can go to Titan Star and follow the standard lvling process.

now that u know the game, follow ur aim and enjoy the fun..all online game seems to be that way nowadays..u struggle to "know the game" and the quit when u do..lol. bc persuing ur aim and goal maybe difficult and why not try another game..i though the same too, but zero is fun so maybe i'll stick around.

good luck on ur goal. hope to meet u in game someday.

about ur suggestion on mentor system, many of such suggestion was made and discussed in zero forum. and yet none has change. maybe when the game is released, we can get all those things change in bundle..hope. what u can do for now is try to make friend with high lvl ppl in fleet or just say hi in space craft going to SpaceMission. Politely ask them if they need another apprentice will never hurt and u never know maybe u are lucky that day. as for mentor system, once the apprentice reach lvl 170 or get to higher lvl then mentor, the relationship is broken by default..

currently, i am ranged lvl 167, 157, 155 with 951 POT with 0 shared pot from mentor..moon server LeG0z.

Haven't tried out that green planet. Apparently, drops there are rather nice, but stayed the normal course and powered myself up to 145 for the third arm. People keep bugging me to trade them an elite hp module really want to strangle them when they can't take no for an answer. The exchange rate for crystals really helps out a bunch when concerning the cap system. Which defiantly diverted from the norm on the eudemons comment. As for games I never quit a game cause I can't grasp it. I usually quit it because I get too far too quickly and run out of things to do, or something better comes along. For now Zero has my attention, still wish my tank mode could hover or something~ Well atm my ingame name is kinda obvious Zeik on moon server. Potency well lets not go there its a little under 500 >.>; I seriously think they added the whole potency scene to take some edge away from power buyers when it comes to the whole skill vs money thing. Anyways, I'll probably see you in game  just wish my weapon mastery would level quicker starting to hate buying those mastery tablets.

haha..ppl do things like that..so its happen to u too.lol

the CAP system is good bc u can obtain that thru hardwork as well and not just buy that from zpmall or something. it may be easy earlier on. but i suggest u to keep that sapphire crystal as much as u can. because its gonna be hard to keep up when all 3 ARM reach CAP 30. that is why u should go to Green Planet as soon as u can because most item drop there..mets, core, etc. try it out as i can survive there at lvl 128 actually..when i reach 130, using lvl130 skill with energy cabin will 2 hit the monster inside..faster lvling beside space mission of course.

weapon mastery(proficiency) is kinda hard to lvl at lvl 135 till 155, but if u kill for exp with less spacemission, it'll be no problem for u. u should keep an eye in market for aux: weapon mastery exp +75% or more, and u dont have to worry about weapon mastery at all..just keep killing. Lastly, u should join Gladiator's spacemission where the reward is 7 mastery CD pack..total of 7x5=35 CDs of random weapon. join the mission, go to ranged section, open panorama map and see where the monster is weak to ur weapon..wait for OD/XP and kill some..when it said "u can go to the next area" make ur way to the npc inside and go to the next area..stay in alley for OD/XP again. when the mission countdown time reach 20minutes or so, go to the next area again..here u should wait until the 4 boss is killed by someone..when its done, go to the next area and another area to finish the mission. the reward is base to how many point u got from killing..if u can get 3 cd pack is ok for starter..join again and more point u got..lol, sorry this is long..lol. i do the mission so many time that my special unit ARM's weapon mastery is 21 atm..lol. meaning that i can wear lvl 185 weapon with no problem.

oh as for ARM, u'll get 1 Frost resist unit for free, another 2 u have to buy for 1mil each. i recommend that u buy both. and use shotgun on the special unit. after all, free unit should be less powerfull than the one u have to pay for it..so keep on Medium, Special and Command unit and lvl those ARM..my main unit is Special unit so, there are alot more work u can do in this game..

my last post of the day..sorry for a long one here.

Hello everyone..!!
