Requiem: Bloodymare News - Closed Beta Begins

Posted by Keith Cross on Feb 27, 2008  | 14 comments in our forums

Gravity Interactive has announced the start of the closed bata the post-apocalyptic, mature themed MMO, Requiem: Bloodymare.

LOS ANGELES -- Feb. 25, 2008 -- The closed beta for Requiem: Bloodymare starts Tuesday, Feb. 26.

Requiem: Bloodymare portrays a post-apocalyptic world where genetic manipulation and dark magic have resulted in war, famine and truly grotesque monsters.  Players take the role of the genetically-enhanced and magically-adept Temperion soldiers, powerful beings who hold the last best hope for Ethegia.

FilePlanet registered users will have a limited quantity of accounts available at 4 p.m. PST on Tuesday, Feb. 26 at www.fileplanet.com.

On Friday, Feb. 29, MMORPG.com and MMOSITE.com will also have a number of codes available on a first come, first served basis.

Although they have started to give beta keys out on the 26th, on their website they say that the beta itself isn't running until the 29th.

I have been busy playing the beta, and they are doing maintenence now.  Looks like this will be a long beta.  Hopefully everything is more polished when it gets to retail.  For an import the game is getting alot more developer attention then normal.  Almost like it was developed in the United States which is great.

I tried it.

It's nothing but Lineage 2 with sluttier outfits ( and the same running everywhere hunched over animation and the same grind ), washed out dismal graphics, and some blood / wannabe gore thrown in.

While some of the mobs are interesting looks wise ( demons and such ), AI is damn near non-existant and the blow apart deaths are more amusing than scary, reminiscent of the original Doom quality.

Graphically, the game would have been behind the times in 1999.

They can't even decide if it's modern or fantasy, as you see everyone with swords and clubs, yet there's corrugated steel panels tacked onto walls.

This one can join 2moons as another wannabe horror grinder with no originality, no outstanding or noteworthy qualities, and no real play value to show, other than it's free ( unless you're one of the wierd ones that would actually buy something from the item shop for this garbage ). And even then only if you've played every other free mmo out there to boredom first.

Also tried it, and it was nothing i would have expected to be honost i was sorely disappointed with the game. Like previous poster said mobs do look good but the AI was no where to be found. Sure the beginning should be just there to get a hang of it's feature's/movement/targetting, but the game at this point feels empty, and not empty due to players but just the world itself felt empty, i went into a town which did look OK but saw just a few NPC's walking/standing around. Not what i would expect from a game development nearing to be released in 2008. I did like the animation of fighting, but the overall feel of movement/walking felt akward. The goblins type of mobs at the start look more funny then they look scary, though they do look sort of "cool", but again fighting such gobby didn't do much FOR ME, as they just stand there to be slaughtered, this kinda went on with other mobs/creature's. I do hope and understand it's beta so lots of room for improvement, and i will try the game in a later stadium of it's beta. So far not impressed on bit with it. Where in other beta sometimes i was not impressed but atleast saw where certain MMO's where heading to become better. With R i not YET have that feeling.

Do hope the game will improve and will try and do it's best to become a great horror type of MMO, so far i personaly am not seeing anything horror-like. Again i hope the game turns out great for those that are going ot play it, and hope some might see different things that might make the game intresting.

ps. couldn't find a NDA on the game when signing up and installing/login to the game. If i missed the NDA somehow please feel free to remove my post here...mmorpg.com

Ok I mostly agree with everyone else here but c'mon peeps.. its a 100% FREE game. It costs nothing. This game is better than most games for PC, and near all games on console.. and it costs not a single red cent. Comparing it to other MMO's? true, it lacks depth.. but for a hack and slash, I'll drop a few hours on it. It is fast to lvl, easy to get your attention, and throws you right into the mix. That said, on the flip side, I would never pay a penny for it lol.

Its free, but it cost time.  There could be other more interesting ways to kill time than forcing myself to kill mobs that I do not feel like to, and repeat that act of pulling, hacking, looting, selling for hours till my back and arm hurt.

http://www.fileplanet.com/promotions/mmoclub/requiem.aspx  <-- just sign up for a free fileplanet account and put in ur birthday.... thats it :) if ur over 17, u get a code, and can download it!

Btw, I like the game. I mean I've played almost every "free" game and beta tested since UO, I like the theme but I do agree on it being like lineage 2 style... I hate the long runs through the city just to get to the NPCs and the TP is outside of the city... its has a few bugs to work out but I love the theme. I love all the blood and the chicks are hot. I dont care how much anyone complains about "sluttier than L2".. thats a plus :)

I am just playing it until AoC comes out.

It's not a bad game, and I know it's a beta, but it's getting near on impossible to play, down to a BsoD, restart pc bug. They're working on a fix, but when you get ten total resets on your pc in 45 mins, you know it's not doing your hardware anygood...
