For the passed month i've been going around trying every Popular F2p MMO.

Requiem is my second stop on the journey to F2p.

Im giving each Game three reviews over time, First impression, Mid level experience and a End Game review. If a First impression review or mid level review is bad I wont give a end game review similar to what I did with PWI, that game didn't get passed the first impression stage.

I will update this post little by little as I get further into the game.

First Impression:

Everyone knows how important a first impression is in a MMO. If you ever started up a MMO and saw shitty graphics, lame combat and uninspired quests you know what I'm talking about.

Well With this game, you have nothing to worry about. The graphics are impressive, the player Animations and the combat is actually well done (something I couldn't say for my first review of PWI).

So with the basics down Good graphics, fluid animations, fun combat the game wont be uninstalled in the first five minutes so thats good.

This game is quest heavy ( I happen to like this) the quests are easy to understand and never really feel like a grind.

The game has four races with 8 classes that branch off into 16 classes at a specific level.

The gameworld has a dark and gloomy look to it that fits the game perfectly.

The game has a cash shop of course but with a quick glance I noticed it only had trivial items like Xp potions, mounts and social clothing, bag space increase, so its really not bad at all.

I'm playing on the games lone pvp server (pve servers are for chicken shits) and So far is seems well populated.  I Really only have one gripe with RBM, the character creation is extremely limited, I was told this game has large pvp battles so thats probably why, to keep the lag down.

First impressions Pros & Cons:

Pros: Graphics, Animations, Fun combat, Blood!!!!, interesting classes, Solid pvp, Balanced Cash shop

Cons: Limited Character customization at start up.

Ty for reading my Mid level review will come in the near future.

You made me curious, so I checked their website. And, without even considering the game itself, it's immediately clear that I'll never ever try this game, unless something is changed.

The reason is simple. This is supposed to be a f2p title. But it has 2 options for subscribing, and you have to subscribe to get "unlimited access to everything that the game has to offer" (their words).

So, what is behind that "unlimited access" for subscribers? Higher drops rates from mobs, and up to 50% more xp. And, you must subscribe to get Region Chat access... So basically, you pay up to $15 a month for quicker lvling, more vendor trash, and to be able to communicate.

This is in addition to a cash shop.

Subscription (even though not required) AND a CS, could easily push the prize far, far above what regular p2p titles costs. Considering that f2p games never have the amount of contents that regular p2p games have, this means you'll easily pay double for half.

No thanks.

Wow i was hoping I could prove this guy wrong.... But no I cant they really fucked this game up. It was amazing when it was first released but I can understand If they don't have subs and no required shop then they make no money.

My review is only a first impression.

Once I get to the point of needing the cash shop I will add it to my future review.

So far at the start of the game it doesnt hurt anything and the game is enjoyable atm.

Also imo even if a game is listed as F2p if a game is good enough I will totally support the Dev team within reason. ( as long as its not over 15 bucks a month).

Once I get mid level, ill post about limitations in the cash shop and if the game is fun enough to warrent using it.

EDIT: More added to post.

Ok heres the deal the cash shop gives you access to More bag space, shared bank space between characters, Mounts, better food and less expensive armor repair.

They also have a premium pac.

one is 7.99 a month

You get 20% increased Money on drops and XP on kills, the ability to chat in Regional chat, 30% lower Xp loss on death.

Second is 14.99

you get 50% inceased money on drops and Xp kills, ability to chat in regional chat, 50% lower Xp on death.

Seriously guys, you can still chat in general, guild, party and the XP,Money increase and Death penalty decrease are all optional.

Its the same stuff if you don't pay your leveling speed, money farming speed, travel speed and bank/bag space is limited just like every other F2p MMO.

ZR301,

I don't mind paying for a game, if it's actually worth paying for. But have a look at the subscription model here:

A premium account costs $15/month, that's the same fee you'll have to pay for most of the p2p games out there. But in this game, even if you pay the full price, you still don't get what you take for granted in every single p2p game, and have to pay extra if you want it (inventory, bank, mount, etc).

If the premium account had ALL these additions included (the stuff you get in p2p games), I might have considered subscribing, if it's a good game.

Once more: no thanks. I'm not wasting time on this game. It's not worth it.

Did you see the special packages? for 15 bucks you get the Basic sub for 30 days and 200-300 Cash shop points

So thats 20% XP/Cash, region chat, 30% death penalty reduction and Cash shop points every month for things like Bag space (a one time buy) and skill resets.

I just found out that you actually get a mount in game through quest reward also so you don't need a mount from the cashshop.

I agree that a sub fee + cash shop is lame but if u look close the cash shop holds a bunch of items you get with the regular sub anyway.

The only real limitation for a free player since they tend to not mind slower leveling and farm speed is the region chat limitation and most players use general, party or guild chat anyway.

It could be worse, they don't have armor or stat increases on the shop, no dungeon keys or zone limits.

And considering the combat is actually fun and graphics are good I dont mind taking the XP/money decrease for free play.

Seriously the game is actually fun... or as fun as a f2p gets anyway LOL!

Its a nice little distraction from my Fulltime playing of Eve online.
