Ya, this game looks really awesome and the gameplay is above adv for f2p mmos. However, if you dont use the item shop, you cant use the glob chat.

This game also has the usual gold spamming chat window 24/7.  Which I got annoyed and left.

The whole Asian style item shop is so unappealing to me. Maybe some like it, but I have yet to see a game that isn't painfully mediocre or lame in some way when they use that approach. I'd rather play a subscription than use those ridiculous item shops. Maybe its popular in the Asian market, I don't see it being very effective here. What crap.

There actually is a subscription option that gives some of the perks of the item mall plus some others you don't find.

It's set up a little bit different in the sense that nothing in the item mall is really giving a competetitve edge at all -- no uber weapons, mega potions...just XP bonuses or money drops, and a couple mounts which I have yet to feel compelled to shell out for. I think Requiem might have actually pulled off doing the Item Shop right in the sense that it's there as an added bonus, but doesn't hinder gameplay without it.

Only exception seems to be the Respecs are only available in the item shop....but really the build theory in this game isn't complex and there's plenty of build discussions established for you to figure out your path and not be gimped.

To the OP:
Try to find some groups to do Chaste Sanctum, and I think you'll see where this game shines. The moving platforms and enviromental effects really show off the Havok engine's potential in an MMO market.

You got to the point where the game really starts to pick up. Remember there's two different places to bounce to for quests, and if you can't find any just hit up the Agents for stuff related to your level.

It's not the item shop you use Global chat, it's the subscription membership. And thank god! It keeps the spammers from posting globally since nobody wants to buy memberships for their spam accounts.

Also, why didn't you just /shut the spam bot? They're only in the newbie hubs, usually only one or two and it's easy to ignore them. I admit it's annoying but at least the GM's are making regular sweeps, and they don't seem to be leaving the hubs so you don't see the spam hardly anywhere else.
