Well, let me start by saying I never had these issues in closed beta testing with the game. I removed the game from my computer while I waited for open beta to begin, and so today I decided to try to get it started again.

After having issues with the "broken" clients and what not, I just gave in and downloaded a version from the UK server on Gamershell. I was having that odd 02 error where it would stop at 50%, all that mess..

Anyways, the game is working. The game is patched. I'm not getting any sort of blue screens, or anything. I'm not even getting errors with the game.

Edit: It's usually inwards about a minute or three of game play. I found ONE other thread on the subject, but he was having issues that differ from mine. For example: my computer does not have any new accounts that I myself did not put there.

My only problem is that in the middle of playing, the game just closes itself. No errors, like I said before. Just a swift close, and that's that.

I can tell you I have Vista, and the only special permissions I really did were the pre-cautions for the blue screens everyone was talking about.

Ah well, anyways.. I was wondering if anyone else was having this issue. If so, any help would be awesome. Thank you.

Edit: Some more information for you:

I tried loading the game, but then just not doing anything. Basically I went through the patcher, and loaded to the login screen. If I alt+tab I can sit at that screen as long as I want. It's whenever I'm actually DOING anything that my limit is one minute to do so. Such as creating a character, creating a pass code, or actually in the game moving and killing mobs.

I don't know if telling you that I run an Inspiron 1720 with Windows Vista 32-Bit helps at all, but uhm.. I am?

I don't use Vista so I can't recreate the issue you are experiencing.  However, here are a couple suggestions gleamed from Requiem's forum (I'll skip the thread you mention since you've already read that one).

1. Set Requiem.exe in the /system folder to XP SP2 compatibility mode.

2. Add Requiem to your DEP list ( click here for how-to instructions ).

3. It could be that your hardware is conflicting with Hackshield.

4. Try opening a support ticket.  If they can resolve your issue be sure to post the solution. ( click here )

I'm an avid ubuntu/gentoo/dm linux user and I would have to agree with that statement. =P
